They both should have to answer to somebody of greater authority and dealt with according to the severity of their actions. The girl didn't deserve to be thrown on the ground or disciplined by jail but should be at least scolded about the necessity of being smarter than that. The cop punishment should be more severe and my belief is that for authority figures consequences for not upholding a certain standard of conduct behavior for them should be stricter rather than more lenient. But in this country it's like being a cop gives you too generous amount of passes to simply screw up with impunity.

sc sheriffRichard County Sheriff Leon Lott spoke to CNN’s Jake Tapper today and said that while he’s disturbed by the actions of the officer who grabbed a student in a South Carolina classroom, there is video of her swinging at him.

School resource officer Ben Fields––who has been the subject of complaints before––was suspended after video emerged showing him getting into an intense confrontation with a student and physically grabbing her. Lott said yesterday that the student was under arrest for causing a disturbance in school and refused to leave, which led to the confrontation.

Tapper confronted Lott and asked him what could have possibly justified that kind of treatment.

Lott said there’s a third video that “showed her striking and punching at the officer.” That being said, he did admit “his actions after he put his hands on her disturb me.”

The FBI is getting involved with the investigation.

This pig is trying justify what his scumbag officer did.. Saying that teenager girl resisted arrest.. But what doesn't add is that she swung on him after he put her in a partial chokehold.. Smdh...

I'm not understanding what y'all expected the cop to do in the situation. Just look at the student and say "ok you win" and walk off? He went overboard but physical force was needed. The same would of happened to an adult what makes a teenager exempt.

It's sad and that shit was crazy when I saw it. But anybody that's been in a high school class room knows kids of all races can get out of line. Girl was asked to leave and she refused, so just let her stay in the class and continue to show her ass? If that was truly the case, but either way he went overboard.
