smh at the instant reaction and consequences of the ray rice video and all the excuses and condoning of this video. white folks aint shit

What would have been the proper response in this situation? I'm just curious. What this dude did was clearly overboard, but if he was properly trained, what should he have done? Does anyone know? I saw someone say he was supposed to clear the classroom. If he did that, and the chick still refused to comply, what would have been his next step. He couldn't just let the chick sit there at that point. Should would have had to go. I'm willing to bet that the people that supposedly train these cops don't even think shit through this much. That's why you had that dumbass on CNN saying cops can do whatever they want when a suspect doesn't comply.

Honestly, he should have left it all alone. She was calm and sitting. The situation was resolved. Give her a warning that if he had to come back, he would remove her from the class.

Done.

The only problem is that's basically giving the student the power. Students don't have the right to dictate what they do or not do in school. And if he set that precedent, what's stopping other students from doing the same thing.

Don't get me wrong, your solution is a hell of a lot better than what he did, but I don't believe it's the right one either.

He should've simply dragged her desk out of the room

But what then? Give her attention or write her up? Yeah, I guess that would work. Maybe that would have been the right thing to do assuming she didn't fight him.

I don't know. I'd like to understand what exactly these cops are trained to do. Like are these cops actually acting against training or is their training just that bad?

Once she was isolated in the hallway she would've gotten up and dealt with her punishment... the embarrassment would've been enough to comply

As far as training goes, i believe the pig was trained to do just what he did.. he was enforcing the unwritten zero tolerance for melanin policy thats been in place for decades

We can´t go besides de fact that the teacher told her to leave the class. She should have left. The cop should have never put his hands on that girl like that but her parents dodn´t teach her that people stronger than her could actually whoop her ass and not give a fuck if she´s a child.

I personally don't have a problem with him getting physical with her. It's the level that he took it too. He literally tossed her around like a rag doll. He's twice her size. If she was physically attacking him, I wouldn't have a problem with what he did, but she didnt. She didn't touch him. He touched her.

We must not allow this rhetoric at all. It has no place between a child and an adult, especially one who "knows better", more adept at de-escalating confrontations. He has no place within "law enforcement"

Here's a legit answer bro. Listen, everyone doesnt feel that nothing should've been done. It's just the level of force was extremely too much. We're not talking about a terrorist, dope boy, thief, murderer etc....We're talking about a teenager that brought out her cellphone. That's like me stealing a cigarette from you & you shoot me. Is it really necessary? Should my last question really be taken seriously?

I'm talking in general. That cop is obviously a piece of shit, but teenagers shouldn't be given a pass because they're teenagers. Yes they have room to grow, but they still need to be held accountable. Otherwise they're never gonna learn. If all else failed and she still wouldn't have moved, he shoudve dragged her desk out of the classroom so others could get back to learning. If she would've continued to resist, he shouldve grabbed her and took her out of the classroom.

I think you're misunderstanding the purpose of my post. I wasn't defending him or asking that question for his purpose. I was asking because I was genuinely curious. Something needed to be done. What he did was wrong, but there had to be a "correct" way to handle the situation. I think what @Trillfate is saying is probably right though.

That's where I was getting at. Something like what Trill was saying. Shit I wouldnt have a problem with him standing her up, bear hugging the chick & carrying her out. Let's keep it all the way live. He could've broken her neck doing some WWE shit.

Why the teacher tell her to get out of the class is the first question...

She brought out her cellphone. Some petty shit...
