I agree with some things the poster said but,The problem is cards are stacked up against ppl of color that whites don't really have to face.The problem is that many black families never truly recovered from the effects of slavery.It effects us in every aspect of our lives from education to male/female relations to the way we treat each other as a whole.I'm proud of anybody who makes it but,at what cost.depending on what kind of person you are you may have to change a lot about yourself to fit in.We should do better and be positive the problem is we are constantly fed this bullshit from the media and society.It's easy to tell ppl at the back of the race to speed up when you had a 2 mile headstart.

I agree. In a youtube video called Maasa21 it discusses the Eugenics organization which existed for the sole reason of killing off African Americans after Slavery. This organization influenced Adolf Hitler to committ genocide in Germany. After WWII the Eugenics organization changed it's name to Planned Parenthood so they would not be associated with what happened in Germany. In the 60's The Black Panther and NOI was the first Anti-Aborption groups. If you read magazines such as Jet and Ebony during that time you will see many Black Leaders and other famous people against Planned Parenthood which they thought were nothing more than a front for Black Genocide.

Maybe it is because I am not from America so from the outside looking in the view is very different. The people I grew up with and went to university with never blamed white people for their inability to succeed...
Success is not solely dependent upon money or making it out of the ghetto so to speak. I still have brothers in Kingston 13 and Jungle area who are success not monetarily but successful in that "they know what life is".

If anyone can look at what African Americans have accomplished in the USA in such a short period of time in comparison to the hundreds of years of slavery they suffered, it is obvious they are the most resilliant people on this planet.

Now I do blame you Caucasoids for nearly every atrocity that has taken place in the last 2000 years or so because you are a greedy / ignorant / thieving / jealous group of warmongers as demonstrated by the state of the world today.
However, you may wonder why some Afrikan people seem so misguided and lost it is because you did something that will cause any group of people to become lost. You took away thier GODS / Belief systems ... you changed history so they have no easily discernible view of who they are and what they come from. The contributions they have made to this world. You corrupt history to wipe away every positive thing thier ancestors have done.

I can't believe this, but I gotta cosign Chike here. Of course, the real problems are also being not being addressed. Violent crime is overhyped and sensationalize though. Poverty, poor access to healthcare, and bad diet are cutting many more inner-city lives short than violence.

brother, all I'm saying is that someday Jesse and Al Sharpton won't be around anymore. Then we are left with no one to be our voice or to lead us in taking back our communities. I think what leaders have forgotten is that you have to reach the younger generation in order to keep any kind of struggle moving forward. If people keep placing responsibility on older people, and not trying to reach out to younger people to stop violence, poverty, and social injustice, we will truly keep having a problem of a bunch of sheep and no one to guide anyone.

You both have valid points. Sharpton has done a lot of good for Black Americans, however, he loves the spotlight a bit too much. Whenever there's a big controversy with a racial element to it, Sharpton not only wants to get involved, but wants everyone to see HIM, and his involvement in front of the cameras. He makes these things about himself rather than about the victims of the incident or the broader social issue at hand. His self serving opportunism tends to overshadow his achievements at times like that. His cause would also be better served if he stopped giving constant interviews to news and talk shows that don't take his message seriously and are just hoping that he'll say something controversial to boost their ratings.
