This is why its sexism. If it was a male valedictorian who had a baby by a girlfriend, he'd still get the award. Because in the public eye, he'd be looked at as a man who was supremely responsible and doing what the head of a household should be doing. He'd feed them some BS about getting married soon and they'd eat it up.
