Juvenile also has 3 Plat and 2 Gold.

Juvi is no way near the Legend of Heavy D, come on now. Juvi had success but Heavy did it in an era where Hip Hop was still growing and he was a success. Juvi is most def gets love in the south for sure. Heavy had way more impact than Juvi did, people like Puffy and Biggie careers were affected by the success Heavy had. Heavy was going Platinum in the 80's which was rare. Juvi went Plat in the 90's after the No Limit explosion, there is a difference, don't want to take anything away from Juvi, he's better and had more impact than Wayne to me but he's not Heavy D level.

Don't know if anyone posted this already but here is Heavy D's Sprite commercial. The Overweight Lover made his mark and he also made his mark running Uptown when Andre Harrell left and he helped guide the success of Monifah and Soul IV Real. RIP.

Props All Hip Hop for making this a sticky. It's great since I grew with Heavy to see him finally get his props. During his time, people said he was too commercial but Heavy is apart of the generation of Hip Hop that made it very fun. He helped the careers of 3 certified Hip Hop Legends, Pete Rock, Diddy and Biggie. I'm very happy he's getting so much props and that people are actually calling him a Hip Hop Legend. Though his passing was very sad, I'm happy that his contribution is getting the props it's getting. This isn't just some "He died, let's praise him" ish, Heavy really brought a lot to this game which is why the amount of celebrity tweets for his Death were massive.

Co-sign, how are you going to be called "ALL HIP HOP" and not sticky this atleast for a week to school the youngin's on who Heavy Was and what he brought to the game. This thread is more sticky worthy than any album thread up there.

I don't know about that one. Juvi is very influential. Both had a hot four year period. Heavy was more mainstream but both had influence and major influence at that. If it wasn't for Juvi, we really wouldn't have New Orleans still in rap. No Limit was a hot marketing ploy with the talent and longevity of a Furby toy. Juvi was actually a real rapper who really actual hoods to rap. Nas, Jay-Z, and others jump on Juvi bandwagon too. This was really when the power started shifting South.

Yea but Juvi didn't do anything that Master P hadn't done and he is from New Orleans also so though Juvi was popular he's not as influential as Heavy D. Puffy, Biggie, Mary J and Jodeci are all apart of Heavy D's Legacy, that fact alone makes him Bigger than Juvi. Speaking of Biggie, Lil Cease has come out and said that Biggie and Heavy D were planning an album but it never happen:

Also many have wondered that this line in "Machine Gun Funk" was a shoutout to Heavy D:

"To Let Niggas Know, that if you Fuck with Big and Heavy, I get up in that ass like a Wedgie"

Come on man, Master P was more of a hype man. Juvi was a rapper. They are not the same. Master P is closer to Lil Jon in terms of style than Juvi. That's like saying because Jay-Z and DMX are very good rappers, they are the same type. That's not true. You sound like you want to downgrade one rapper to raise around one up. I can't stand when people do that. It's not needed. Just give praise to the rapper. Leave others out of this.

1st if you read my comments, no where did I "Bring down" Juvi. Someone posted, "Juvi is more influential than Heavy D" and I explained why he's not. Say what you will but someone else injected Juvi into the convo in a Heavy D R.I.P. Thread of all places and the fact is, Heavy is more influential than Juvi is. Heavy did songs with Biggie and Pac in their primes, gave Diddy his 1st job helped in the development of Mary J and Jodeci. He also helped to paved the way for every Heavy set dude to blow up in the mainstream. Again when you look at everything he did, I don't see how Juvi is more influential than he is, that was my only point.
