Nas put him on, he got a deal, and continued his career.

he also did an entire album full of lesser known rappers from queens.

The only acts i remember him signing to Ill Will Records was quan, and bravehearts.

so he "put them on" but they didn't develop into Great artist.

He didn't put nobody on and he is known as a snake to rappers from Queens,but get's a pass for it on the Reason.AZ was not known until Sugar Hill.Illmatic was not a popular album when it came out so it did nothing for AZ and Jay carried Foxy to her success as a rapper.
