I don't know if it's more prevalent or not but I don't believe it's a new phenomenon either. I think shit like this been goins ons. I know of a few reliable sources with stories from back in the day. It's even been depicted in some of our entertainment. Hell, Q was fuckin that old chick on Juice and we never really thought twice about it. I say that to say, shit like that had to be commonplace enough to be wrote into a script.
I actually think technology and social media get a lot of people caught up with the shit now-a-days tho. I mean think about it, when you would bounce from the crib as a youngin, you really didn't leave too many 'footprints'...and none of the digital kind... If yo parents wanted to know where you was they had to go to certain measures to find out if you was lyin or not (callin around, drivin by, etc.) Now, they just put some shit on the kid phone or wait till they sleep and look at they text messages and shit. And low and behold, dumb ass kids still got all the pics and info still there.
These ignant ass kids also think EVERYbody they 'friend' too. So I don't think it's so much a think of WE wouldn'ta told NObody...just we woulda knew who we could tell and it woulda only been a select few. Shit, I wasn't tellin niggas even when they was askin and chicks was our age. "Ion't know you like that nigga!"
