Please tell me this is a joke post. First of how the fuck is Beans one of the best battle rappers of all time? Nigga when people look back at the best battles in rap, Beans and Jada doesn't even rank. You the only nigga I know that barks that Beans "shredded" Jada. Next, the only person that considered Beans to be better than Jay was Nas during his rant (If you think Nas really meant that shit, you're delusional).
Two Gold albums during a time when niggaz was shitting platinum? Did you just say two "almost" Gold albums? Thats about as stupid as a nigga saying "he almost made the All-Star Team". Lastly, Ray Allen is considered to be a first ballot HoFer. Did I mention that he's a 9-time All Star, Olympic Gold Medalist, Nba Second Team and Third team member. He also holds records for 3s made in a season, 3's in a finals game, 3s in a final series, next season will be the #1 3 point shooter of All time and has PPG avereages of 21 (regular season) and 19 (playoffs). Now I dare you to list Beans accolades so I can laugh some more at your idiocy...
At the bolded:
Yes, it is looked at as the one of the best battles in rap. Check your sources again. And yes the majority of the people who listened to their diss tracks say Beans won the battle. It's kind of like Nas with ether. JayZ stans will say Jay won but the unbiased fans of Hip-Hop and Nas fans will say Nas won.
Regarding the "Compared to Beans you wack statement" : I'm from Ny. It was common fact that Beanie was the nicest dude in the group. The only people who thought JayZ was better than Beans were people who based their opinion on sales and money. Raw Lyricism goes to Beans by a landslide. .....Btw I suppose Nas is the only one who thinks Eminem beat Jayz on renegade (even though he didn't). Maybe Nas is the only one who thinks JayZ constantly bites Biggie's style and is a certified Media whore.
At the underlined:
Two gold albums is good in anyone's book. Have you listened to a Beanie album before? His content is not for everybody. Actually Beanie's music only relates to a certain type of people. It's not like the pop music JayZ makes. And it's not like the music Nas makes. It's in its own category.
Now, let's look at the numbers. His first album sold 700,000. Let's say he makes 2 dollars per each album sale, that's 1.4 million dollars. How is that bad in the least bit?? Let's do his second album which sold 585,000. Multiply that by 2, and you have over a million. So making a million dollars from writing and expressing your opinion is bad now?
Ray Allen:
9-time All Star in a 14 year career is good now? (he just signed a 2yr extension, so it will be 9 out of 16) How many people make the All-star game? 15 (it might be 12) people on each team? So you mean to tell me he wasn't even considered a top 15 player in his own conference for 5 out of his 14 years? ....Btw Ray Allen is not a First Ballot HOF. You're riding him a little to hard kid.
Wait now let's look at his draft class and see how he compares.
1996 Draft Class consists of: Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Derek Fisher, Steve Nash, Ben Wallace, Marcus Camby. So where in fact does Ray Allen rank among his peers?? Derek Fisher has 5 rings. Ben Wallace won 4 defensive player of the year awards, Camby won defensive player of the year award, Allen Iverson has 4 scoring titles, Steve Nash has 2 MVPs, Kobe is arguably the GOAT etc....
-----------------------------
To sum it up, everything is based on perception. To me Beanie is a top 15 lyricist. When I judge an emcee, I judge him on content and lyricism. To you Beans isn't any good, obviously.
To me, Ray Allen isn't any good. He's my definition of an average player. He's not good and he's not bad... Ray Allen doesn't make my top anything when talking all-time, Beans makes my top 15 when listing emcees. So to me comparing Beans to Ray Allen was selling him way short. I was trying to see it from y'all point of view.
...Not to mention the whole comparing a hoop-er to a rapper is a huge reach in itself anyways.
