Yea, I know the whole "Live long enough to become the villain" thing is given to top artists in general but I just can't ever see Kendrick falling into that trap with me. If anything, dude gets better and better. And it helps that he is hungry. It's like he starves Himself, compared to runs like Lil Wayne run in 05-09 where when he was finally given the torch and he said "aite cool let me just chill now"

Kendrick Lamar vision and drive will make him a legend and there is no denying that.

I wonder how much of that is Kendrick, and how much is Top Dawg, Punch, etc.

That's one thing that sets TDE apart from other rap crews/labels out right now, the management/execs at their label seem to be pretty smart and business savvy.

Get Top on the phoonnee!!!

How this nigga got shit that can't make the cut on his official album still >>>>>> most niggas whole albums

Apparently the album was inspired by Prince's "The Black Album"

"As far as untitled, me and Kendrick always talked about doing a sort of Black Album, like how Prince did back in the day,” says Punch, referring to the singer’s 1987 album. "There was no album cover, no song titles, no anything -- just tracks he threw out.”

Nah he's not exempt, fans will grow older and new artists will come and newer fans will hold the newer guys in higher regard. My lil bros don't give a fuck about Pac, Big or the 90s but if you asked them about A$AP Mob, Kendrick, Cole, Drake they can quote all their records.

It's just human nature fam, ppl look for things to identify with when it comes to entertainment. There was a time niggas said the same thing about Kanye West but when he got all the fame and accolades look how quick ppl turned on him.

na not human nature just rap fans

It aint no Lost Tapes thats for sure

What does this mean? I think that's how projects become under appreciated or under valued.

If you're going to compare it to something you consider great you're always going to be disappointed. Let the joint stand alone.
