College basketball doesn't get you ready for the NBA, the games are totally different
Nah. I can't agree with that statement completely.
I mean it's true for the few small amount of elite talents out of every class that are NBA ready the moment they step off that HS graduation stage. However, for the majority of players who aren't one and done, the right program, coach and system can improve your potential NBA productivity.
The coaches who run pro-style offenses based off NBA principles like PnR sets, high and low post action, spacing the floor via motion offensive sets and heavy switching on man to man defense with a packline influence, drastically aids player development.
Elite D1 programs also have big athletic budgets that enable them to hire world-class strength and conditioning specialists.
Yes, the NBA is worlds apart from college basketball and the college level may not mean shit to the elite 1% of the population that are NBA ready out of highschool but for the majority of players, college basketball helps. Getting drafted after being in the NBA D-League is also a decent option now to improve if you don't like the college route, Glen Rice Jr. did it after he got kicked out of G-Tech last year and PJ Hairston after getting kicked out of UNC, is going to do this year.
