@Knock_Twice and @jee504, what ever happened to Cheeky Black

But when I think of bounce I think how it sounded different in the late 80's early 90's as compared to mid 90's to the 2k's

Local town lady..she still does her thing..

She had a lil/small role in the series Treme that HBO shot down here in the 7th,

The late 80s to me, the cadance/drum pattern was much slower in a sense, you can really her the trigga man beat on bounce tracks in the 80s

Then the 90s you started getting more melodies to run along with that trigga man beat, more sounds were brought into the play, and they somewhat sped up the tempo..

Now 2ks and present, they can put a bounce track over any song that's out Lol, the beat is much more faster (cadance/drum pattern) and you have more a bouncy rhythm now more so, this just my opinion on the changes, you still have the trigga man beat somewhat in the song, but you can barely notice it, like how you could back in the 90s..

That's the same thing with "house" music here in Chicago. They drop a house/dicso track on everything

That's not that 'stepping' type music is it?? that you guys step to out there...

Nah, house and stepping is two different forms of music. Stepping is more like a "cakewalk" smooth type glide, but to see a hardcore stepper move, that shit is poetry in motion. Steppers be suited and booted when they step out, it looks like a pimp parade

Lil Slim. Another rapper from Cash Money from the 17th ward. Had some good albums. Cash Money had a nice ass roster back in the game. He even got some vids on Youtube talking about how Wayne started rapping.

Bounce Slide Ride

Where Your Ward At feat. PMW

Eagle St. Bounce (shit bangs like a mofo)

True To Tha Game (love this song)

Blunt After Blunt feat. Pimp Daddy

Time To Murder feat. Kilo G and Mr. Ivan (both artists from Cash Money. rip to both. Kilo G got killed at 20 in 1997 and Mr. Ivan died in 2007.)

Up On My Feet

Gangsta Day (smooth track)

Cold Game feat. B-32 (Baby's original rapper name)

Lil Slim feat. B-32, Pimp Daddy, Tec 9, and Yella Boy - Hoes I Used To Sweat

It was this one album or group, I can't even remember but it was Baby nephew that rapped on a song called "Whoa now lil daddy, you riding in the caddy" I can't remember what the song was actually called, I wanna say that song was on a cd called Smoking out or Smoked out

but the dude sounded like Lil Wayne,

Dude got hit 17 times with a chopper at school is all I can remember about him...

I think dude name was Lil Derek, I may be off

@jee504 yep that's it folk. that's the album,.....I wanna say he had a solo song, but I could be wrong

Wayne took that verse and put it on # 1 Stunna

Them niggas was notorious for using parts from other songs as their hooks for other songs..but I didn't know that part came from this song

Remix

The original

Lol i was high in that vine, but yea i been hearing people telling me i sound like im from New Orleans i just grew up listening to 90's new Orleans music. A lot of people don't kno but Louisiana music gets heavy play here in Maryland boosie's biggest fanbase outside of the south is in Baltimore its a lot of similar lingo with both regions. If u go to YouTube and search the song "whoa now" by B rich a nigga from Maryland a lot of heads think hes from Louisiana just cuz of the cadence of the song.

I feel you folk

I've been up there and I've heard cats on that boosie heavy

People sleep on Louisiana music..just this thread alone, most of the songs posted, they still play in the club and they still have the club jumping, and this is just from a few rappers that's in New Orleans, we didn't get into the CMR early days with HBs and their solo songs and Master p and shit they dropped the early Baton Rouge Rappers, like C-loc and the camp, Youngbleed, the early boosie and others lol. man back in the day when I was in college and HS, it wasn't nothing to be in a club and that dj ran nothing but New Orleans/Baton Rouge music (jig shit) and have folks on the floor the whole night...it was at times the dj would go All night and would play nothing but music from the state of Louisiana, nigga wouldnt leave outta Louisiana, and the club would be str8 stupid crazy. Man Louisiana got some heat as far as music goes...They now are playing other songs that are hits and popular but at a time @jee540, and others can prolly attest to this, a nigga can go to a club or party and you will hear nothing but NO, BR, Lafayette, Shreveport music all night in that bih Lol..

@Knock_Twice man back then damn near all parties, bbqs, clubs, etc. were dominated by local Louisiana rap. They played nationwide hits here and there but shit the music people was putting out locally was untouchable. You literally had music for anybody of all ages.

Chicks was bustin it open left and right. You didn't have to dance they'd just bend over.

Riding around different neighborhoods playing music and if broads heard it they just start dancing. The good ol days man. You had to be here.

They played that music through college too. In them hood clubs in Baton Rouge, I swear I was at home sometimes.

With all the stuff people have posted I feel like we scratched the surface but got a long ways to go to rep the music.

Literally a gumbo pot. I'll never let this music die. Its in me.
