Hip-Hop is trendy. Hipsters can be hip-hop. Street dudes can be hip-hop. Suburbanites can be hip-hop. If you smoke weed you can somehow fit into hip-hop. American Sports is generally hip-hop. You sing RnB today, you can still rap and be hip-hop.

No matter what race, country, or religion you can be hip-hop.

It evolved in including everyone and everything. Sorta whored itself out in the process. Big money and social media and tv shows all develop from hip-hop. Dolla dolla bill yall.

Thanks for your reply! So you don't think disco was considered an "inclusive" genre? What do you think the traits were that made it (or any other type of passing fad style) not "stick" like Hip Hop?

"Why does Hip Hop persevere, where so many other music genres quickly fade into oblivion (like Disco?)"

What other genres of music faded into oblivion besides disco?
