Where the hell do you think Nas gets his information from? I'd just rather read something from the expert than the regurtitator. Can't see how anyone would have a problem with that.

if you were getting a doctorate in something, would you go asking a 14 year old to tutor you in something he learned from a book? B/c that's basically what we're talking about when it comes to Nas.

Nah. I'm suggesting u go read a history book written by a historian.

so you respond to me by disagreeing and then suggesting I do what I already said i should do and have been saying others should do?

your post is contradicting itself.

Lol look at your posts

you say folks should read books as a way to learn & Nas has said he's read books (including the dictionary if I'm correct), but since he dropped out it doesn't count or somethin?

Seems like your gripe w/ Nas is personal & you're white too, so him sayin that bout your ancestors might upset you

Christianity, adapted from Judaism, started in Africa?

Philosophy started in Africa even though the word is Latin in origin? Latin people are African? If you want to talk about Greeks studying Egyptian texts that's one thing but even then it's dubious because Plotinus was influenced by Arabs.

Also I was talking about who they stole it from, not the origins of everything.

Monotheism originated in Africa, not to mention the parallels between Jesus and Horus. And according to the Bible the Jewish people were the sons of Abraham who was a descendant of Ham a black man making them black also.

Philosophy started in Africa as well it may not have been called that but that is where it originated and Socrates himself was educated in Africa and that's where he adopted the idea to never write down his work it was from the African oral tradition.

There were empires in Africa back when Europeans were still in caves, most of that stuff they teach you in school is BS.
http://community.allhiphop.com/discussion/457498/powerful-black-images

I'm not even saying Europeans came up with this stuff, they stole it and then tried to rebrand it but not everything came from Africa, some things did develop later. Now if you want to talk about the division of Asia/Africa over time and what Africa is now as opposed to what it was in BC times, that's a whole other longer convo to have. I even said I'm aware of Plotinus' work being influential to Greeks but it was more religious clerical stuff taken from Arabs than the kind of independent philosophy that came later.

But we're getting off the point really of the celebration of the genocide of Native Americans.

I see what you're saying and kudos, but it still those from India who influenced him, not Arabs

I kno huh....it aint knowledge unless its coming from someone who got that white education.

Like folks cant self educate..

Dumb ass nigga.

Call me when this parallel and equal "black education" invents the internet or builds a spaceship to the moon.

Pretty much, if you think there's a "white education" and a "black education", you're failing in life. I'd just rather get my info from someone who's educated. Period.

But dumb ass niggas want to learn history and math from a rapper, like rhyming words with "twerk" makes him an expert in everything.

And, like it or not, but self-education is variable and impossible without the work of people who went through the system.

But kudos to those of you who think it's revolutionary for Nas to be regurgitating something you all probably should've learned in the 7th grade.

Dumb ass nigga....when I say white education I'm referring to public school education...

U missin the point....u saying that u can't learn from someone who dropped out in the 8th grade like knowledge don't mean shit unless it's coming from someone who graduated high school...

High school doesn't' mean shit either. It provides little skills other than some abstract thinking, basic reading skills, and being able to regurgitate a few widely known facts.

But pat yourself on the back if you've graduated high school, if you think that's any kind of accomplishment worth bragging about.

Yeah...look at my posts. You've missed my point entirely. My point, which clearly has gone over your head, is that i'm not interested in learning history from someone who has no expertise in a subject. He can be right (which i've already acknowledged), but you'll never see me reference Nas as a source in a conversation or paper when speaking about Native American history. I'm interested in referencing and acquiring knowledge from reputable experts in my subjects of interest.

And I'm not white. Not even close. But the fact that you think that factors into my argument says more about you than me.

I have no personal gripe with Nas. Dunno how you've gotten that from my posts. His accomplishments have no relevance to my life.

Oh, and reading the dictionary is a pointless task in of itself. It's one of those "pat-on-the-back" accomplishments that the uneducated think is something worth bragging about.

i read a shit-ton of books too, but i'll never waste my time reading the dictionary, since my vocabulary and annunciation skills are already developed.

You must not be listening to a lot of intelligent men and women throughout history.

Historian's fallacy. You're assuming that I'm not likely to listen to intelligent people of the past b/c I reject the historical expertise of a present-day 8th grade dropout.

Everything is the past even this posting. I see you know, telling Lincoln to shut up he doesn't know shit since he only went to school for a few months.

Mark Twain, I'm not reading his shit pff, I graduated 1990's broken Public school I'm too smart for that shit.

Nope. I'd listen to Lincoln if he talked politics. I'd listen to Mark Twain if he discussed writing. But i'd fact check them on everything if they were to talk about, say, medicine, or mathematics.

Indians saving Pilgrims isn't physics or mathematics, it's general knowledge.

That's actually part of the point of one of my earlier posts in this thread.

Nice try, but it's not my thanksgiving. I'm Canadian, I ate my turkey a month ago.

Also, I'm not a hypocrite and hate the white man like so many on here, and yet celebrate their genocidal achievements.
