Considering the fact that we're a close British Ally with few feuds such notions appear irrelevant. America isn't needed. It's a disposable country, like every other country/

America is central to the western world. canada was no feuds with anyone because we make the world safe for western powers. without america nazism would have destroyed europe or russia would have swallowed europe and the rest of the world would have fallen to communism. No other nation on earth could have done what america did and still does do.

they are either too small or lack the will power to do anything

Russia crushed Germany, not America. Stop taking credit for other nations' work. You couldn't even beat Vietnam.

america and russia crushed germany and without american help england would have eventually fallen making it a one front war and even if russia did win stalin was worse than hitler so once again america was and is central to the power of the western world.

Canada is the second greatest country in the world. Greater than America too.

canada is not even greater than germany, Japan you canadians have delusions of grandeur

I'll grant you Germany, but i'd be skeptical to add Japan to that list.

Canada only this year dropped below both Germany and Japan on the UN Human Development Index from 6th to 11th, and Japan rose from 12th to 10th. Germany also rose from 9th to 5th. So up to this year, Canada was steadily above both countries according to the UN.

In terms of happiness, Canada is third to Norway and Sweden.

And in terms of countries to grow old in, Canada is 5th, behind Sweden, Norway, Germany, and The Netherlands.

In GDP per capita, Canada outranks both those countries. Japan is 12th, and Germany is 21st.

In GDP growth for 2013, Japan is 132nd, Canada is 142nd, and Germany is 169th.

In gross GDP, Japan and Germany outrank us, but every other country that outranks us, also has a significantly larger population (~35 million in Canada, versus 80+ million in Germany and ~130 million in Japan).

In terms of GDP per hour worked, we also outrank Japan, but Germany outranks us.

You can also factor in other things, like racism, which are still quite high in countries like Germany and Japan. In 2005, the UN even issued a statement sighting deep concern over racism in Japan.

And Germany has a higher level of reported rape (about 7x) versus Canada. Japan has less, but they're really get their freak on.

Both countries do better than Canada on lists reporting Intentional Homicide Rates and Infant Mortality Rate.

Overall, good comparison, but like I said, i can accept Germany as a better country right now, but i'd say Canada is still a better country than Japan.

Do you think part of Canada being able to run smooth is because it has the U.S as a buffer?

Partially, but not entirely. I mean, that's like saying "what's to stop China from invading Japan since Japan has no navy".

In terms of defense of borders, Canada has contributed a lot of technology and men, proportionate to our population more than proportionate to our size. We do a lot of technological work for the defense of North America. But if you're talking military, I don't think Canada needs to rely so heavily on the United States b/c the United States' vast military is dictated by their foreign policy.

The foreign policy of Canada was quite different from the United States up to the Harper administration.

The greatest buffer for North America, though, IMO, is the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

That siad, we are apart of the NORAD and other defense organizations. So we don't entirely rely on the U.S. for protection.

*This topic has really taken a turn for the better.

[Verse Two]

Religion misoverstood is poison ,Sisters up in my hood try to do good given choices ,

When pregnant, drop out of school or have abortions ,

Stop working hoping that they find a man that will support them,

Up late night, on their Mother's cordless,

Thinking a perm or bleaching cream will make them better when they're gorgeous ,White girls tanning, lyposuction Fake titties are implanted, fake lips that's life destruction

Light-skinned women, bi-racial hateful toward themselves ,

Denying even their blood, I don't judge Tiger Woods, but I, overstand the mental poison,

That's even worser than drugs -
