One thing that I really apprecite about Nassir is the fact that he don't give a fuck.

A lot of rappers never get to album #10 but by the time they get to #5 they trying so hard to please the suburban listeners that they forget were the fuck they came from so they end up making desperate crossover attempts that flop like fish.

That Distant Relatives project really made me respect Nas because he didn't have to do that type of project he could have done some Linkin Park and Chris Martin shit for record sales.

It makes me proud that there are still artists who make music for us.

Where's the Common, RZA, Primo, AZ, OFWGKTA, and Mobb Depp collabo? As always, Nas hypes up his album with a bunch of rumored legendary collabos and then puts out another album produced by the hit-or-miss, overall pretty mediocre producer Salaam Remi. It's definitely nice to see No I.D. getting half the production, but overall, this is disappointing. AZ and Primo would practically trade a lung to get on Nas' album, and I find it hard to believe that they aren't capable of giving him some classic material for this record. Nas' executive abilities haven proven time and time again to be subpar. He's his own worst enemy.

i just do

But It doesn't seem to be a lot of interest for this album and the singles ain't hittin on shit

(however based on the success of Nas last two albums and his critically acclaimed guest appearances on recent tracks I think he will be successful....and he has a very loyal fan base that support him)

I think it'll go gold within a month, 2 tops.

He got a nice buzz and been killing his features, I don't think he needs a strong single because most of his fan base are mature HipHop heads who ain't gonna cop an album just because they hear it on the radio a million times.

come on son that Daughters track is buzzin like crazy aint nothing out there like it right now and i actually hear it alot via commercial radio ouchea in the DE/PA/NJ tri-state area ........ and nas is on his promo crazy ... that video feature with Nicki i think put him over the top major surprise ..... this time last year in regards to nas you could hear the crickets and i know for sure because i got a call last year ask me to book nas and they was telling me i could get him for the extra low cause he was strapped for $$$$ ... not saying thats true but i usually only get those calls when a deal is to be had .... but it was bad timing so i turned it down ...... (thinking back im saying fuck!! cause i know that same deal aint on the table today, now that im back and can make some ish happen) ......

I been a Nas supporter from day one, I got hard copies of all his albums and I can honestly say it's like an event just to cop them joints peel off the plastic and read the credits while I bump it.

I know what you're trying to do but to answer the question. He'll go gold at best which is what he has been doing for the past 2 albums.

Do over 100-175k first week...and go Gold in a couple of months.

Album #10.

Most artists don't even make it to album #5 but Nas doubled up, if this project is successful which I truly believe it will be then you have to have Nas in your Top 3 IMO.

Nas should be good and if not it's just a reflection of how wack we are at supporting our genre. Especially us in the older generation. Step up and go buy a retail copy instead of downloading that shit or getting it from your mans. He gets my money on every release. But those who really like his music need to buy his music.

I disagree. Nas isn't really talked about amongs the casuals. The only thing they know from him is Made You Look, Got UrSelf A Gun, Thief's Theme and etc. A lot of folks says he fell off and I disagree with them on that, too.

Well the new generation know Nas from "Daughters" because he debuted it on 106 and Park and it was on the countdown for a while, plus SummerJam, and of course the Nicki Minaj video.

Nas has been on a lot of MMG projects so the streets know the voice and the name...casual rap fans may not go out and cop but I'm positive that there are a lot of HipHop heads and curious people who will.

It might do more 200-275K due to the fact he has a loyal fanbase...granted Im not up on radio or music channels to know whether he getting the play deserved that would push up those numbers.
