It isn’t until Jubilee approaches Logan that she, Nightcrawler and then Psylocke are able to free Logan from his mental conditioning. Thinking they have won and their ordeal is over, the X-Men are shocked to see Warren Worthington in severe pain and exclaiming that the light never dies in monsters. As Logan follows Warren through the streets of New York and tries to stop him, Psylocke attempts to reach both of them through the use of Cerebro, even though she is jeopardizing releasing Shadow King from the prison in her mind. Once he gets away from Logan, Warren makes his way to a hospital and cures a young girl as Logan looks on. Seeing this, Logan realizes where Warren is going next – to see Abraham Kieros, Apocalypse’s former Horseman War. There, Logan stops Warren from reaching Abraham and begins to battle him. In her mind, Betsy is told by the Shadow King that he can stop this if she lets him. Betsy starts to go towards him but is stopped by Warren who tells her to stop. After that encounter, Betsy turns off Cerebro and lets Warren do what he needs to. At the hospital, Warren convinces Logan to make the right decision. When he does, Warren goes into Abraham’s room and bathes him in the light that surrounds him, healing Abraham from his debilitating condition, but losing his new wings in the process. The next day, Warren informs Logan that he’s going to use his wealth and power to help people.

These next 4 issues are not too important to continuity but serve as some background info on Deadpool.

Deadpool #34-37

Wade wakes up and finds himself trapped in a holding tank. A scientist explains that Wade doesn’t have to be afraid because he isn’t dying, but his body does seem to be changing into… snot. As the scientist researches the problem, Wade tells him a story about the time he was still working for the Kingpin, but that some other guy took down his victim. That other guy turned out to be Bullseye, who later defeated Wade in a battle and took over his job. Wade still thinks that none of this is actually happening, but the scientist claims otherwise. He can really confirm that Wade isn’t dying, since he made sure of that. He shows Wade what he means, as… he also has Death captured!

Deadpool desperately tries to escape from his holding tank to rescue a captured Death, but fails and discovers that his body can somehow completely turn into snot. Next he remembers a time before he started working for the Kingpin, after he had escaped from the Weapon X Program about a month or two. He tried to earn a living by becoming a merc and was hired to kill a nun who was working for the mob but had betrayed them. Filled with life questions, Wade was approached by a mysterious man who hired Wade to join his team. Wade decided to let the nun live and accepted the invitation. But, he went to the wrong meeting house and instead was hired to become a substitute for the Hobgoblin! After realizing he made a mistake, Wade got again contacted by the mysterious benefactor, who revealed himself to be the Wizard. After getting a proper introduction course, Wade, alongside with the Constrictor and the Taskmaster, joined the Wizard’s new team of Frightful Four. They broke into the Baxter Building, and attacked the Thing, who was home alone with Franklin. Though thanks to Franklin’s cunningness and the Thing’s powerful muscles, the team was soon defeated and Wade decided to run away from the Frightful Four before the rest of the Fantastic Four got home to take them out. After telling this story, Wade escapes from his holding tank and is ready to kill the scientist.

Wade calms down and the scientist gives Wade a containment suit, which he has to wear an hour a day in order for his body to stay solid. Wade reveals that, while fighting Bullseye over the same job at Kingpin’s office, he actually chose to save some people from danger. The Kingpin couldn’t have that in a mercenary, so he chose to fire Wade for it, giving the job to Bullseye. Wade also remembers about his bad childhood and abusive mother. Eventually, he recalls the time being a Weapon X reject, where he beat cancer but lost his skin but also gained his healing factor. After escaping, Wade wanted some answers and thought it would be best to go find his father, whom he has never truly known. Upon returning home, Wade was reunited with his mother but killed her. Deadpool manages to free Death from her holding tank and together they escape. However, while escaping, Wade discovers that they are actually trapped on the moon. The scientist catches up with them, and decides to reveal his true face. He is in fact Loki in disguise, who claims to be Deadpool’s father?!

Wade isn’t pleased that Loki still holds his beloved Death a prisoner. Loki promises he’ll release her after Wade performs a mission for him. Wade agrees, so Loki transports him to the city of Manhattan. There, Wade witnesses Thor rescuing some people out of a burning building. But, thanks to Loki’s interferences, things turn worse when the building collapses. Thor drops his hammer and fails to find it. Wade does find the hammer, and earns the power of Thor! Nearby the real Thor’s powers are stripped away from him and he becomes mortal, changing back into Jake Olson. While Wade enjoys his new powers, Jake desperately tries to follow him and get his back. Jake gets knocked out by Loki, who traps his brother in his lab. He releases Death, who now only has eyes for Jake, thinking he’s dying. Wade doesn’t like Death not noticing him and tricks Loki into confessing he isn’t his father. They fight, with Loki casting a curse on Wade and teleporting into safety. Wade tries to give Jake his hammer back, but something is still wrong. They all head back towards Earth, where Jake finds the real Mjolnir, revealing that Loki only gave Wade a fake one. He transforms back into Thor and wants to finish off Death. Deadpool of course doesn’t allow that and he and Thor fight. Thor knocks him out. Wade wakes up a few moments later, with both Thor and Death gone. He feels like none of this really happened. He returns back home, where he makes a startling discovery: Loki’s curse restored his face!

X-Force #94-100 & X-Force Annual 1999

After recieving a package from Genosha, the team travels there. Fending off magistrate and mutate alike, X-Force are soon joined by the man who sent Cannonball the package - Pete Wisdom. Wisdom takes X-Force to a curio shop, filled with boxes that contain the imprints of other people’s memories. Cannonball recounts the memory he received and asks Wisdom to explain it. Wisdom tells him he will provide another piece to the puzzle provided Cannonball helps him out. He then reveals that a satellite crashed into Hammer Bay six months ago, and was taken into custody just before Magneto assumed power, and it is vitally important X-Force help him retrieve the satellite before Magneto realizes what he is in possession of. Wisdom then introduces X-Force to Delphi, explaining that she is the creator of the memory boxes and offers X-Force special skills they will need in Genosha, in return for one memory from each of them. Delphi then gives X-Force the memories of various Genoshans with important skills that will be useful on their mission. Elsewhere on Genosha, Jenny Ransome meets with Quicksilver, and after discussing Magneto, Jenny informs Quicksilver that X-Force are on the island. Quicksilver finds X-Force and confronts them, telling them they are in danger being here, but Cannonball takes Quicksilver down.

RbT7BYF.jpg

He Moonstar, Meltdown, Proudstar and Wisdom enter the cybernetics lab, a place where Wisdom finds what he has been looking for - the brain of his former associate, Archie. This triggers the cyborgs in the lab to wake though, and outside, Magneto flies across Genosha. Wisdom recounts what happened to leave Archie as simply a brain, before Magneto arrives on scene. Meanwhile, Domino and Bedlam arrive at the power plant and discuss Bedlam’s life, before Domino catches him taking drugs - which Bedlam assures her are electro-neural inhibitors, which prevent him from going insane if he uses his powers. X-Force battles Magneto, and eventually Proudstar escapes with the brain. Quicksilver catches up to Proudstar, who quickly explains the situation. Moonstar takes Magneto down, but for some reason loses control over her power. This forces Cannonball to bring plan “B” to the front, and Bedlam shuts down the power plant, plunging Genosha into darkness. This enables the magistrates to attack the capital armory, where Amelia Voght and the Acolytes are barely managing to hold them back. This forces Magneto’s hand - either he squabbles with X-Force, letting the magistrates gain the upper hand, or he lets X-Force leave with the brain and puts a stop to the magistrates. He choses the latter, and X-Force make it to a boat where they leave Genosha, with Quicksilver’s blessing. Wisdom loads the brain into an artificial body, effectively “resurrecting” his friend. Cannonball is finally given what he wanted - the second part of the mysterious memory of his past - this time he sees his father and uncle seemingly involved in a murder!

Cannonball breaks his uncle Lucas out of prison, determined to find out more about the mysterious memory recently uncovered. He reveals how a simple truck robbery became something entirely different. After his partner got shot, Lucas looked into the truck and saw that what they were delivering was a strange golem which is why he asked his brother, Cannonball's father, for help. Ty agreed, both unaware that the young Sam hid in the truck. They met with the mysterious Finn, unaware Sam was spying into the facility and saw several children in cages and being experimented on. Finn revealed that the golem is a Celestial device, and can help them create a new species who will survive the coming age of catastrophe. Lucas stole a gun from one of Finn's men, disturbing the process that they were involved in with the golem, but creating a distraction so that he, Ty and Sam could escape while the golem followed them. The mysterious Sledge then arrived, and battled the golem, destroying it.

Ty and Lucas then buried Finn and his men, who were killed by the golem, and Sledge used a memory-wiping device to erase that memory from Sam and the other children.

X-Force arrives at Sledge’s junkyard where Ulysses Dragonblood and Arcadia Deville make their presence known, and Acradia reveals to Moonstar that she has been haunted by dreams of a giant Demon Bear. Sledge and Ulysses reveal to X-Force information about the Damocles Foundation, which was formed by disillusioned Eternals, Deviants and humans who wanted to create and control the next species on this planet.

0NP8LzD.jpg

Meltdown gives Bedlam some words of encouragement, unaware that she is being watched by the Triune Understanding, who believe she could serve them well. Moonstar is doing some tai chi with Jennifer Kale, and they discuss her new powers, before Moonstar suddenly sees the Demon Bear.

Meanwhile, in Sao Paulo, a very bored Sunspot ignores the girl clinging to him as he thinks about X-Force, before noticing a woman being harassed into an elevator by two men. Sunspot intervenes, only to discover that the men are some sort of demons - and that the woman is actually not defenceless at all - she’s Selene, and after turning the demons to stone, she tells Sunspot that she has been looking for him, and wants to make him an offer. Selene reveals to Sunspot that she has captured the SHIELD agent from the Reignfire debacle in Las Vegas, and he reveals that he is working for Damocles Foundation. Meanwhile, Odysseus Indigo, Dr Joshua and Dr Chandra arrive in Brazil, with the remains of Project Nineteen - Reignfire! Selene and Sunspot arrive in Brazil and she reveals to him the reason they need to stop the Damocles is because they are preparing to merge the Celestial golem with the remains of Project Nineteen in an attempt to rewrite the genetic template of future generations. They are soon confronted by the Sword team, and are captured. Selene reveals to Sunspot that she would like him to join her new Hellfire Club.

X-Force, Sledge, Arcadia and Ulysses arrive at Indigo’s base after learning that Sunspot is there with Selene. Tensions arise between Sunspot and his former teammates, while X-Force are not happy about seeing Selene. Sunspot reveals that Indigo plans to use Reignfire, and the mutants break into the lab, but too late as the remains of Reignfire are infused into the Celestial golem. Ulysses and Odysseus - brothers - battle.

wvE9dQ2.jpg

While Selene gets the upper hand in taking control of Reignfire and the golem. She reverts the members of Sword to primitive creatures, and a combined attack of quantum energies from Moonstar and Arcadia manage to destroy Reignfire and the golem - angering Selene - who lashes out at X-Force.

X-Force Continued

Sunspot wakes to find himself in an illusion cast by Selene where he is a celebrated hero. Selene reveals herself, impressed that Sunspot saw through her illusion, she informs him that she wants him to join the Hellfire Club, and casts him into another illusion, where he is an advisor to the President on mutant affairs. Sunspot is still not interested, and flies away. Selene’s associate - Blackheart - reveals himself and tells Selene that if she wants Sunspot, she will have to use the girl. Sunspot frees the rest of X-Force from their illusions. Moonstar is being held in stasis by Blackheart - until Hela arrives, pointing out that Moonstar is under her protection and that no harm shall befall her. Blackheart is no match for Hela and forced to release Moonstar. Moonstar then meets up with her teammates and uses her quantum powers to make the Hellfire guards disappear, before announcing Selene is working with Blackheart. Selene and Blackheart appear, revealing that Juliana Sandoval is in their possession, explaining that when she was shot by the Hellfire Club all those years ago she was not meant to die. Sunspot is amazed to see her, and told that they can give Juliana a second lease on life if he joins the Hellfire Club. X-Force are free to leave the Hellfire Club and inside Susnpot asks Selene to keep up her end of the bargain. Selene does, revealing that in a Baltimore hospital a young woman was brought into the emergency room suffering from a massive cerebral aneurysm, and that her soul has passed on - and that Juliana’s soul is now entering her new body. Juliana rises and calls out to Sunspot, while Selene tells him that eventually she will forget that she was ever a girl named Juliana Sandoval, but that is the price you pay for a second chance. Sunspot is more interested in the fact that he can do more damage to the Hellfire Club as a member, than he could as part of X-Force, before regretting the fact he can never be part of Juliana’s new life. And across town, Juliana Sandoval - in her new body - wonders why she dreams of a Brazilian boy.

X-Force make their way through a chaotic San Francisco only to find the Demon Bear tearing up the city. Arcadia appears and after a brief battle the bear swallows them. They land in what Moonstar assumes to be the realm of the Demon Bear. While the rest of X-Force continue to battle the Demon Bear, Meltdown is unaware that she is being watched by two people in suits, and Proudstar is rescued from a large falling sign by Risque. A SHIELD team arrives to use a multiphase plasma cannon against the Demon Bear. Cannonball and Bedlam attempt to stop them, but are unsuccessful. Back in the Demon Bear’s dimension, Moonstar and Arcadia find the “heart” of the Demon Bear, and begin absorbing their energies back from it - but Arcadia is not strong enough to contain the energies, and releases them - causing the Demon Bear to explode in spectacular display. But what is more shocking is what is left behind - four versions of Dani Moonstar!

nsWIbfv.jpg

Next Arcadia turns into the Queen of Swords. X-Force confront the four versions of their teammate, before the Queen and the Moonstars vanish, and the real Moonstar appears, dazed, but otherwise fine - except for the fact that she has lost both her quantum powers and psionic powers. A massive cathedral then appears on Treasure Island, and they realize just how powerful the Queen is. Domino is suspicious of Risque, who explains that she is here at Sledge’s request. Ulysses Dragonblood transports X-Force to the cathedral, and Moonstar opens a portal so they can enter it - only to find themselves separated. Jennifer Kale has learned of what is transpiring and makes her way to the cathedral. Moonstar realizes that the cathedral is a portal to countless alternate realities. Suddenly Cable & Ulysses arrive. Moonstar, Cable and Dragonblood enter a world where X-Force work for the Queen of the Star Swords. Soon, three of the alternate Moonstars appear, as servants for the Queen, they battle Cannonball and Meltdown, and in the process, inadvertently reunite the members of X-Force. Moonstar absorbs the energies of the three alternate selves back into her, and confronts the Queen, trying to reach out to Arcadia. The fourth alternate Moonstar - the cosmic one - is found by Jennifer Kale and the Man-Thing and she jumps into the middle of the battle between Dani and Arcadia, adding her strength to Moonstar. Moonstar uses Cable’s psimitar to finish off the Queen, and Arcadia is reverted to her true form. Moonstar receives instruction from the Man-Thing on how to destroy the cathedral, and with her cosmic power returned, does so. The escape the cathedral - except for Cable, who must return to his true reality.

Monet is asked to her new headmaster’s office after the death of her roommate’s friend, and she discovers that the headmaster is in fact the murderer and a vampire. He tries to turn Monet into one, but her telepathy serves as a deflector, however before she manages to fight him off he bites her. Monet was able to “tune out” his control over her because of her telepathy. However when she and the police raided the headmaster’s office they found no evidence that he was the killer. Monet tried exposing him to sunlight, however it didn’t work, and the police thought she was mad. Thinking about what to do, Monet realizes that there are only two ways to stop him – cut off his head or stake him, and she is about to make her plan when she is attacked by Tabitha, a girl who was the most recent victim. Monet stakes her after the battle and proceeds to find Delacorte, who is comforting Monet’s roommate, Charlene. He is about to bite Charlene when Monet bursts through to rescue her, but Delacorte escapes by turning into mist. Charlene goes to safety when Delacorte’s assistant attacks Monet, and again she stakes the old woman before “back tracking” the telepathic link she had with Delacorte to find him, and just in time as he is about to bite his next victim. The two engage in aerial combat, until Monet uses her super strength to force him down on top of the spike, which sits on the bell tower, and he explodes. The school was closed down and Monet had to chose, which school to go to now – and she returns to the Massachusetts Academy.

Reaching a junkyard where the Skrull version of himself visited, Logan does some investigating. There, he runs into the Reanimator. Eventually, Logan finds himself in a desperate situation until Nova arrives and helps him out. Logan then sends him to get some help. Shortly, Nova returns with the New Warriors in tow – Aegis, Turbo, Speedball and Namorita. After a brief battle, they destroy all of the Reanimator’s robots. Later that evening, Logan tells Nova that the New Warriors need to have better teamwork but that they did well today.

Magneto gives Iceman and Beast his last remaining ship in hopes that they can reach the X-Men in time so they can save the world. In his space station, the Evolutionary discovers a stray signal, which Dr. Essex reveals is his. Sealing the Evolutionary in his suit, Essex reveals himself as Mr. Sinister. With no one left to stop him, Sinister states he will turn the world into a giant experiment.

The X-Men decide to go off into space aboard a Skrull spaceship they have in order to defeat Sinister and the Evolutionary. Having rocketed into orbit, the X-Men pass the satellites responsible for the regression process and all feel a wave of nausea. Once onboard the station they face a whole horde of the Evolutionary’s New Men, who are being controlled by Sinister. Wolverine sniffs Sinister out and takes Storm and Shadowcat to confront him. The X-Men are ambushed by more New Men, but Wolverine takes the fight straight to Sinister. Sinister blasts Wolverine away, but Logan still survives.

XjPTc4I.jpg

Wondering how Logan survived, Shadowcat realizes that the wave of nausea they felt earlier was the return of their powers. Sinister realizes his mistake but feels that it can be dealt with. Wolverine destroys the control panel for the satellites, which causes part of the station to blow up. Sinister escapes aboard the X-Men’s ship as the team confronts the Evolutionary, who reveals that Wolverine only broke to controls to his tube; the Evolutionary himself destroyed all his research on evolution. The Evolutionary apologizes for being so ignorant and blind and offers the X-Men a ride back to Earth as mutants across the globe regain their powers. Elsewhere, Mystique escapes prison and swears to destroy all those that have betrayed her. Back on Genosha, the re-powered Magneto and his Acolytes defeat the human magistrates and retake the capital. After that, Polaris and Magneto begin to explore the possibilities their powers have on one another.

Gambit v3 #12-19 & Annual 2000

Jean-Luc LeBeau and Tante Mattie fill in Gambit that they both were saved by him at the end of the 19th century. They even have a hundred year old photo to prove his presence in the past. Gambit asks Sekmeht Conoway for help and she suggests that he uses Dr. Doom’s time machine. Along with the Courier and the Mengo Brothers they invade Latveria, fight their way past many Doombots and reach the platform. Gambit takes Courier with him and they arrive in London 1891. They track down the Thieves Guild and learn that because of an earlier failure, Candra has taken Jean-Luc LeBeau (his grandpa) and Belize Marceaux (both still young boys) hostage and has not renewed the guild pact. Candra needs knowledge on Dr. Essex to prepare herself against Apocalypse, and Gambit offers to provide it, yet the Guild have learned Essex’s whereabouts too and prefer to work off Candra’s debt themselves. Gambit grabs Jean-Luc and leaves, it’s a race to new York, where Essex lives under the alias of Dr. Milbury.

Gambit Still Gettin Bitches In 1891...

gDvB4UG.jpg

In the past, Gambit, Courier and Jean-Luc head to New York, where Sinister works under the cover of an obstetrician. Courier shapeshifts into a woman and makes an appointment, but Sinister discovers that “she“ is a mutant with morphing abilities and captures her. Remy and Jean-Luc run into the Thieves Guild while checking out Amanda Müeller. Jean-Luc betrays Gambit and leaves with the Guild, who are later attacked in the tunnels below New York. Gambit too enters the tunnels and finds himself in Sinister’s lab; he is offered a deal for the life of Courier. He lets the Guild track down Ozymandias to study his texts for Candra and also restores the Courier from liquid state, in exchange for a cell sample of the shapeshifter, which Sinister uses to give himself the ability to morph. Upon restoring the Courier he makes a wrong assumption that the woman who visited him was Courier’s natural state, and Jacob Gavin is now stuck in the female form. Remy and Sinister follow the Guild to Ozymandias place and defeat Candra, who is then turned over to her fellow Externals, who are not happy that she risked disturbing Apocalypse. Sinister erases the memories of Ozymandias‘ texts from the Guild’s minds and locks the information deep in Gambit’s mind, at the same time he notices that Gambit must have undergone brain surgery before. Gambit and the Courier accomplished all they came for, but now are stuck in the past.

vhx9Vl5.jpg

In the present Fontanelle visits Rogue in her dreams to tell her that Remy is in need of help. Rogue searches for the missing Gambit and tracks down Sekmeht and the Mengo Brothers. Since since being on the run they ended up in a place called Folding City, a maze of space-time fragments. The place is run by the father of the Mengos, he attempts to turn all of Latveria into this state, but Rogue defeats him and all of them escape back to reality. Gambit gave Sinister the mysterious vial which contained a part of his brain that improves his powers to such a degree that Gambit can transport himself and Courier to the present.

The New Son contacts Archangel and asks him to kill Gambit. He then explains to Fontanelle that many alternate Gambit’s have been killed in the same way. The New Son dismisses Fontanelle as she has gathered all required information, he then sends the Courier to recruit some assasins. Fontanelle appears in Courier’s dreams and wants to know which side he is on, Gambit’s or the New Son’s.

Gambit now is constantly charged up and able to kiss Rogue, protected by his own bio-field. Yet over a few weeks, the powers get more unstable and he randomly causes burns and explosions. He leaves Rogue and gets back to New Orleans where after being readmitted into the Thieves Guild even becomes their leader. His first day sitting in the throne, he is stabbed in the chest by Bullseye. The Assasins Guild arrives, wanting to kill Remy themselves. In the confusion he slips away and is taken to a secure place be his fellow Thieves Guild members. With help of Tante Mattie and his hypercharged powers Gambit starts to heal from the injury, but the Constrictor crashes in, renders the Guild unconscious and Gambit again has to fight for his life. More villains arrive eager to collect the price money on Gambit’s head; FBI agent Carl Denti offers Gambit a ride, but suddenly they are attacked by Denti’s former alter ego, the X-Cutioner.

Dsz3Wfi.jpg

More and more superpowered villains arrive to collect the price on Remy’s head. Some of them even fight each other, while Gambit tries to get away from the X-Cutioner. Courier turns against the New Son and calls Archangel to help Gambit. In the end most villains keep themselves busy, the Assasins take on the X-Cutioner causing a big explosion. Gambit and Bella Donna are buried by debris. Outside the two Guilds form a truce, while below the rubble, Gambit and Bella Donna sort out their relationship. The New Son exploits Quiet Bill‘s ability to create dimensional doorways, much to Courier‘s concern. After Gambit has disintegrated enough debris to free himself and his ex-wife, and Denti dealt with the police to let them go, Gambit is suddenly grabbed by his fellow X-Man Archangel. They battle in the skies over New York, but as the X-Men arrive, Warren departs without revealing his reasons. In the New Son’s Crystal Cathedral Courier and Warren realize they are both in this to help Gambit. Bill is no longer sure of the New Son‘s actions and transports the X-Men and Gambit into the Cathedral. Turns out that Warren only played along with the New Son to expose his plans. In the end New Son attacks Remy, Warren and the Courier, but Remy is able to counteract the energies, because the New Son is nobody else than Remy himself; only from an alternate reality, older and more experienced. Before any questions can be answered, the Cathedral collapses. The New Son is taken through a portal, the others get back to earth in Siberia. Gambit writes a warning on the ground that the place belongs to the New Son.

Deadpool #38-45

Wade becomes obsessed by trying to get over Loki’s curse, which has completely restored his face. Patch has left the Hellhouse leaving someone named Beef in charge. Wade returns home and his automated security system does not recognize him, therefore blowing up his hideout and destroying his costume. While waiting for a new suit, he finds a beautiful place and decides to take it, though it has one down-part: Deadpool becomes roommates with the Constrictor and Titania. Deadpool, believing that the Constrictor and Titania have been sent to kill him, fights and defeats them. After doing that, Wade decides to take the new place. A few weeks pass, and Wade has already become a little more acquainted with his new roommates. One day their home gets broken into and they find a tape, which has a message recorded, which comes from none other than the Taskmaster looking for Titania. Titania gives Wade the codes she knows, and he travels to the Taskmaster’s hideout. Titania convinces the Taskmaster to let Wade go on the job instead of her. However, little does Wade know that Titania and Constrictor have a scheme plotted, wanting payback for getting beaten up by him. Deadpool attends the Taskmaster’s class, where he gets briefed. Wade gets introduced to his partners for the mission, namely Electa, Pyron and Malovick.

Taskmaster sends them and Deadpool on their way to steal a NASA space shuttle, so they can travel to Baron Zemo’s platform. However, Wade has his suspicions that he’s being set up. Deadpool and his “interns” manage to steal the shuttle and head into space. Once on board of Zemo’s platform, Deadpool starts fighting his teammates, who declare that the Taskmaster was aware that Wade would pull a stint like this. With gravity off, Wade’s body starts turning fat, and Pyron uses his headbeam to have Wade’s mind wiped! They separate the platform in two pieces, and the interns disables Deadpool’s pod, with him only having about ten minutes left to live.

grJCv8A.jpg

Taskmaster and his crew made it home only to be apprehended by SHIELD. Meanwhile, Wade winds up being beamed inside a cloacked ship, which restores his shape. Wade is introduced to the Last Men, who are each the last man of their species and the most feared in 12 galaxies. They want Deapool to rescue their leader, Dirty Wolf, in exchange for a ride home. He frees Dirty Wolf from a prison, but a riot starts resulting in Wade's ride home exploding. Wolf brings Wade to his bike, but Wade steals it, leaving him stranded. He gets approached by the Starjammers but denies their ride and they radio for help.

Meanwhile, Constrictor and Titania are on a job, when they get attacked by Absorbing Man! Creel thinks the Constrictor is trying to hit on his wife. Titania mysteriously disappears during the battle and leaves Frank to himself. After defeating Creel, he angrily returns back home and demands an explanation, but she simply claims it’s all husband-and-wife stuff. Wade comes back home and tells his story, and refuses to give Titania her money. On that moment, the trio is approached by their new client: Achebe, and adversary of Black Panther who has just came out of a coma. He hints that Titania has a secret, then offers them money if they help him steal a leopard from Erik Killmonger, one of Black Panther's worst enemies. Apparently he has defeated T'Challa and become the head chief of Wakanda, and now is at Avengers mansion trying to take his spot on the team as Black Panther. Deadpool and friends show up at the mansion and fight the Avengers. They lose the battle, Achebe escapes, and Triathalon is transported to Wakanda.

The Avengers have arrived in Africa in search of the missing Triathlon. At the same time, Triathlon and Preyy the leopard wake up to find themselves in the presence of Achebe, who is ready for the next phase of his plan, and teleports Wade out of jail. Achebe orders him to meet up with Triathlon and help him get back home, as his kidnapping was a mere accident. The Avengers are soon attacked by T’Challa’s guards, and Eric is confronted with Deadpool. Achebe messed with his teleporter unit to separate him from Triathlon, in the hopes that Wade would kill Killmonger. Triathlon finds himself lost, but meets a mysterious stranger who tells him to move out of the Avengers, as they don’t even really want him on the team. Deadpool has had enough of this nonsense and teleports home. Not much later, the Avengers find Triathlon again and also leave, but Killmonger decides to stay in Africa to undo the work of Ross, as he dislikes seeing Africa and America united into one.

Meanwhile, Constrictor and Titania are still in jail. “Titania” reveals her true colors and reveals herself to actually be… Copycat?! She transforms into one of the guards and knocks them out, and sets herself free to return to Wade. A few minutes later, Wade meets up with Hayden the salesman and is glad to see him. After eating dinner with him, Wade starts fighting him and Copycat transforms back to her real self. Wade admits that he always had known Titania was actually Vanessa in disguise, but always thought it was just her way to get close to him again. Vanessa denies that, explaining she made a deal with the Wizard and the Taskmaster to steal all of Wade’s money. After carving his pin-code number onto Vanessa’s face, telling her she can have his money; he doesn’t care; the Wizard reveals he has explosives taped all over the Deadlounge and has the place explodes.

svP6Alv.jpg

Wade luckily survives, and goes drinking. There, he first remembers Loki’s curse when he is approached by an older man. They have a “happy” conversation together and, afterwards, Wade notices that his old, horrible face has returned! He realizes that the old man was actually Loki in disguise.

Wolverine #150-153 Blood Debt

In Japan, Logan visits the gravesite of Mariko Yashida where he runs into a drunken Silver Samurai.

d9iEU7U.jpg

After a brief altercation, Logan goes to visit Yukio and sees a grown-up Amiko.

VdLqjDO.jpg

Back at Yukio’s place, they are joined by an injured Silver Samurai, who had been attacked by the men of Haan Kaishek. In short time, Yukio’s place is overrun by Haan’s men. Yukio and Amiko get out safely while Logan and Harada fight the men. Once outside, Logan comes face to face with Haan himself. Haan is able to kick Logan off of the rooftop and proceeds to stab Harada with his own sword. Making his way back onto the rooftop, Logan swipes at Haan, gathers Harada, and makes his way down to the street. There, they are picked up by Gom Kaishek. At Gom’s house, Logan learns that Gom and Haan are at war. Gom wants Logan to help him but Logan declines. However, after learning that Amiko and Yukio have been taken captive, and being shot in the forehead, Logan reluctantly agrees.

In Japan, at Haan’s penthouse, Logan is met by Haan and his army of men. After a vicious and deadly battle, Logan makes his way back to Gom’s penthouse. Haan arrives and sets off an explosive that rocks Gom’s penthouse. When it does, Gom rushes off while Logan faces off against Haan’s men. In the courtyard, Haan catches up to Gom and shoots his brother in the forehead.

eO9y2Jg.jpg

In another section of the penthouse, Kia saves Amiko, Yukio and the Silver Samurai from three of Gom’s guards and takes them into her custody, offering them safe passage. Her motives, however, are far more devious as she takes them hostage herself. Later, in the courtyard, Kia convinces Logan to help her stop the bloodshed her family has endured for years. Begrudgingly, Logan accepts but tells her that, if anything happens to Yukio or Amiko, he’ll come after her.

At Haan’s penthouse, Logan enters with Kia by his side. After a brief battle with some of his men, Kia convinces Haan that they need to have a sit-down meeting with Logan present. Meanwhile, Yukio and Amiko are able to overpower their captor, Tupa. Once they do, Yukio proceeds to call Kia on her cell-phone. When Kia answers it during her sit-down meeting with Haan, Yukio yells on the other end and informs Logan that they are free. From there, all hell breaks loose. Kia shoots her brother, Haan, in the chest and then tosses the gun to Logan.

24CrEkd.jpg

When Haan’s men enter and see him lying on the ground shot, they assume that Logan did it. During their assault on Logan, Kia deftly escapes. After Logan disposes of Haan’s men, Haan tells Logan with his last breath that Kia is the mastermind of the whole thing and that she is going to kill their dad, Yolyn, and to take over the Kaishek Empire. After reconnecting with Amiko and the Silver Samurai at Yukio’s apartment, Logan learns that Yukio has gone to Mongolia to deal with Kia. Logan instantly decides that he is going to Mongolia and with some convincing – and agrees to let Harada and Amiko tag along.

In Mongolia, Kia enters her fathers chambers and proceeds to shoot him. Once she does, Yukio arrives and starts to take out her frustration on Kia herself. Yukio gives chase and is herself shot by Kia. Before she is able to kill her, however, Amiko arrives and saves her. Kia decides to take her hostage and goes deeper into the compound. Catching up, Logan saves Amiko and slashes Kia across the face. After a vicious battle, they tumble down a pit and, in doing so, knock some pipes loose emitting gas. Knowing that her quest is for naught, Kia sacrifices herself and slams her sword into one of Logan’s claws, causing a fiery explosion. Thanks to his healing factor, Logan is able to survive and lands outside after being badly burned. There, he meets up with the Silver Samurai, Yukio and Amiko. When Amiko check on him, Logan simply tells her that he’ll be fine and that it’s time to go home.

Magneto: Dark Seduction #1-4]

Magneto's Team:

JNYGhAm.jpg

It has been several months since Magneto assumed control of the island nation of Genosha. In that time, he has made incredible strides to unify and rebuild the once war-torn and chaotic country. His success has come from ruling with an iron hand and deftly managing the nation’s remaining assets. His cabinet is an eclectic bunch with some questioning his rule, including his own son, Quicksilver. Genosha’s rebirth is hindered by a rebellion in Carrion Cove and limits on the nation’s resources due to UN sanctions. Magneto finds support for his waning powers from Polaris who in turn is gaining knowledge of her own powers from the true Master of Magnetism. Quicksilver worries that she may be seduced by this power. The rebellion uses former Acolytes turned mercenary to stand their ground and protect a secret so great, it prompts Amelia Voght to join their cause to keep it from Magneto’s hands. The UN decides that their original appointee, Dr. Alda Huxley is too personally involved and sends a new envoy… Magneto’s daughter, the Scarlet Witch.

NADMOdZ.jpg

She cannot help but be impressed by his results despite her misgivings and their past relationship. Quicksilver learns the secret hidden in Carrion Cove and allies himself with those determined to keep it from Magneto. The Genoshan forces take the Krolik Foothills and still do not know how the former Acolytes who work for the rebellion have grown so powerful. Cortez secretly reports to the UN the latest in Genosha, with his own agenda clearly in play. Pipeline realizes that Pietro knows the truth of what Carrion Cove is hiding and teleports him away. He is determined to claim this power for himself and rid Genosha of outside rule once and for all. He then teleports the rebels and their mutant allies away and is about to claim the prize for himself when Carrion Cove is rocked by yet another attack. The UN has deployed a “special task force” of their own to protect the hidden technologies at Carrion Cove. They’ve sent in the Avengers!

einmxun.jpg

The Avengers’ arrival in Genosha sparks a battle with the Genoshan cabinet. Magneto arrives with Polaris and battles the Avengers to a standstill. Alda Huxley learns of Fabian Cortez betrayal and confronts him. He offers information that she finds valuable and they strike a bargain. Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch try to disable the coveted equipment while Magneto is occupied on the battlefield. Magneto pushes Polaris’ powers beyond their limits in order to end his battle with the Avengers. While the assembled heroes try to save lives in the wake of the destruction Magneto unleashes, he goes to claim his prize. All that stands in his way are his estranged children. He chooses to give up his chance for reconciliation to attain this power and forcefully subdues them. He is about to acquire the advanced genetic devices that will restore his powers when Polaris arrives to stop him. Magneto defeats her and uses the machines to repair his damaged DNA. When he emerges once more, he is invigorated and uses his powers to immobilize the Avengers. He tells them to get out of his country and when they try to argue that the UN didn’t agree to this, he points out they have violated their own treaty and that they and Roxxon have been supporting the rebellion against him. He refuses to recognize human law. The Wasp declares that it’s in the world best interest that they stop him here and now. He asks how they plan to do that and as a demonstration of his raw power, he magnetically reaches out to Hammer Bay, grabs the traitorous Fabian Cortez and smashes his body against the rocks before the assembled heroes. He then positions satellites and threatens to crash them into major cities if the Avengers don’t leave. The Wasp relents and Magneto exchanges harsh words with his children: Wanda and Pietro before they depart. He tells them that they have once again disappointed him and they express their disgust with him. Polaris departs as well, explaining that it’s what Alex would have wanted her to do. Magneto is left alone to rebuild Genosha and prepare for the next stage of his plans.

I arrived at the Six Month Gap, or revoltion. In each series, the "Revolution" issue represented a jump of six months after the previous issue's events. In most cases, "Revolution" also marked an attempt to send each title in a new creative direction, and to this end new creative teams were assigned to the titles. Many characters' costumes were redesigned, and a "Revolution" logo was printed along the right-hand side of each issue.

CEDBmOP.jpg

Nightcrawler teleports himself to Cecilia Reyes for medical attention and in the infirmary Jaeger shoots Cecilia with an arrow. Right as Jaeger is about the kill Nightcrawler, Cecilia’s force field extends itself and skewers Jaeger. Elsewhere, in space, Shadowcat, Colossus, Psylocke, Rogue, and the new Thunderbird are working on making the High Evolutionary’s station habitable. The new space team arrives at the station aboard the Intrepid and quickly gets to work to get the station on line. During a party, Colossus asks Rogue if she read the letter Corbeau delivered for Gambit. Rogue told her that she ripped it up, because she knows that since Gambit is leading the Thieves Guild, he will one day have to choose sides. Colossus turns into his metal form and kisses Rogue, who is left surprised.

gtwhSKb.jpg

Elsewhere on the station, Shadowcat goes down a vertical tunnel where she meets her new boyfriend Seth, another crewmember. Seth, however, attacks her. Right before she fades into unconsciousness, he tells Kitty that of all on board, only they will live. Awakening, Kitty is wrapped up like a mummy and uses her earring to cut her way out. She finds Seth, who is dressed in a new kind of techno-space suit. Seth tells Domina that the station, which destroyed their civilization, will soon be destroyed. Domina questions Seth’s choice to bring Kitty but Seth tells Domina that Kitty is Neo. Domina’s transmission breaks up as she realizes that Jaeger is dead. The X-Men reveal their identitiesand battle Seth but he ruptures the hull and tosses Rogue out. He says goodbye to Kitty and flies down to Earth. The station falls out of orbit and begins to head towards Earth. The X-Men find that only the Intrepid shuttle is left. Psylocke wraps the shuttle in a bubble to keep the atmosphere in while Colossus and Rogue toss the crew across the space to Thunderbird and Corbeau. Everyone gets aboard but a girder assembly breaks off and heads towards the ship. Shadowcat is tossed by Colossus to the girder and she phases it through the shuttle. Not waiting for Kitty, the team blasts off back to Earth. Kitty returns to where Seth put his suit on and finds one for her. She puts it on and relays a message to the Intrepid to fill them in on her status. Kitty turns the suit on and streaks towards Earth.

The X-Men make a safe landing and return to the mansion to search for Shadowcat. At the Church of St. Michaels, the Neo bring back the body of Jaeger to Domina, who swears revenge on the one who killed her husband. Cecilia takes Kurt to an illegal infirmary for criminals. The criminal Delgado and his boys drive a truck into the building in an attempt to kill Charlotte Jones. Delgado takes out a gun and shoots Jones when Archangel saves her and knocks Delgado down. The gun is about to blow when Cecilia uses her force field to contain the explosion. Jones runs after Delgado with Archangel behind her. The crisis over, Cecilia finds some vials of rave and decides it is unsafe to leave them lying around and pockets them. Elsewhere, Delgado kidnaps Tartarus, one of the Neo. Warren is next lured into a trap and winds up losing conciousness. Following Archangel, Charlotte arrives and hears someone scream. She finds herself in a field of bones with remembrances of Delgado’s victims. Delgado has turned into a monster but Jones defeats him. However, she starts to mutate also. Nearby, the Neo ambush Cecilia and Kurt, who is helpless from his injuries. Without options, Cecilia injects herself with rave, which amplifies mutant powers.

Wolverine and Moonstar break into the remains of one of Sinister’s labs. Wolverine tells Moonstar that this is the 17th attack and the 17th time Sinister was killed. Moonstar uses her powers to show Wolverine Sinister’s death, which reveals to have been done by Domina, leader of the Neo. Wolverine also learns from the image that Sabretooth is alive. Forge calls them back to the mansion, because the space station the X-Men were on was sabotaged. At the Church of St. Michael, Cecilia defends Nightcrawler and the Morlocks from the Neo. Suddenly, the X-Men break in and join the fight and Archangel returns to save Psylocke from Barbican. Domina attacks the X-Men and quickly defeats them all. She goes to kill Cecilia for killing her husband when Wolverine arrives and defeats her. Barbican tries to seal the church so no one can escape, but Psylocke and Cecilia keep a tunnel open with their powers. Cecilia realizes that Charlotte Jones is missing and stays behind to find her as the X-Men and Morlocks escape. Outside the church, the X-Men vow to find a way to save Cecilia and Charlotte.

In Boston, Tessa, former servant of Sebastian Shaw, confronts Senator Kelly in a cemetery. Tessa warns Kelly not to run for president, as he may bring the end of the human race. However, Kelly dismisses her warning, as he wants to avenge his wife’s death.

Cable #79-84

Cable is mulling over recent life-altering events when three witches visit him. They warn him of three tests tonight and three tomorrow. Then they show him a vision about a good man named Andy who becomes possessed and tried to go on a killing spree at MSG. When Cable stops him he encounters an alien presence in his mind who identifies himself as Aentaros, one of the Undying. Andy falls to the ground dead. Meanwhile, a man by the name of Randall Shire learns he was the target of the assassination attempt from Andy. He also learns Aentaros was behind it. However, he will still continue with his plan to make the world his. In the Sinai Desert, Professor Oxton and Berger come across what they believe to be the Lost City of Atlantis. Also happening concurrently, Blockade lies in his hospital bed with no change in his comatose status. That is until Aentaros chooses him as his next host body. Blockade awakens and decides to go after Cable first, then Shire.

And speaking of Cable, as he walks the city streets a woman in front of him is grabbed by two men and taken through a door. He charges to the rescue only to find the place full of military robots and a soldier in futuristic armor. Cable easily dispatches the robots and when he grabs a hold of the soldier he teleports away. Cable heads back to his safehouse, unsure of the day’s events. When he walks through the front door he finds himself transported to a plush, vibrant landscape. The witches tell him this is the “Third Test.” He soon stumbles upon a woman named Eyla who invites him to her family’s home. It turns out Cable was transported 2,000 years into the future, where Earth is now known as Harmony. Cable, as the first traveler to come through the city in a long time, is an honored guest and they throw him a party. The party is attacked by Ranshi operatives halfway through and during the skirmish Cable is sent back to the present. Cable recaps what happened to him in Harmony to Blaquesmith and Irene. Irene suggests they go check out one of her contacts named Clarity, who may be able to shed more light on the Undying. Later, they’re picked up in limo and driven to Clarity’s residence.

Blockade has broken out of the hospital and has left a trail of death and destruction on his way to see Cable. Randall Shire’s message is reaching more and more people. Berger and Oxton try breaking through the temple door, but fail. They’re met by some soldiers who warn them of the dangers the temple possesses. Controller Sandella of the Ranshi is lenient on Malan for his failure to capture Cable, but warns he better come back with him next time or else. Back at Clarity’s, Blockade busts through the wall and goes after Cable. Immediately after Malan and his crew teleport in, their sights set on Cable as well. Cable finds himself captive on the timeship Conquest. There he learns all about the Ranshi Empire, but when it’s discovered their prisoner is Cable, “the Nexus”, the Ranshi immediately send him back to his encounter with Blockade. Aentaros doesn’t accept defeat and instead snaps his own neck so he can die and be free to choose another host. With the battle finished, Cable has Clarity check up on the Undying. It turns out the Undying have been around for centuries, possessing people and using them to kill countless innocents. Cable takes this all in and wonders what the connection is between Ranshi, Harmony, Randall Shire and the Undying. Speaking of Randall Shire, Bridge pays him a visit to warn him of Blockade’s threat. While there Bridge falls under Shire’s influence. While in the Harmony timeline, Manuel Cire receives a visit from the Three Witches warning him Cable is the key to his future. Manuel sets about preparing a timeship to jump to the past. He has Eyla go with it in the hopes she can convince Cable to start the Harmony timeline. Over in the Sinai Desert, Oxton and Berger learn that the demon Azazel guards the ancient temple and those who speak of it die instantly. Professor Oxton doesn’t believe in that garbage, but when he tries radioing his find back to base camp he turns into a statue. Berger thinks quickly and sets up a digital camera and his laptop to record the findings. His hope is Azazel won’t know what any of that stuff is. Cable has Blaquesmith create a device that will trap the Undying in its host body. Then he goes out to meet Bridge for pizza so he can discuss what happened to Blockade. While there Cable figures out Bridge is under the influence of Shire and heads back to the safehouse. Inside, Cable finds Blaquesmith beaten and nearly dead. He also finds Irene, with a bloody butcher knife and the Undying symbol on her forehead. Cable doesn’t want to kill her, but on the other hand he doesn’t want to die. While doing his best to keep Irene at bay Cable mentally contacts the local Emergency Center and has an ambulance dispatched to his location. When they arrive he telekinetically gives Irene a heart attack and kills her, thus Aentaros flees her body. The medics bring Irene back to life and take her to the hospital. Cable takes a cab and on the way has a disturbing vision of Rachel Summers trapped in a cage. Meanwhile, Key tries convincing Shire not to kill him and Wall when it’s all over, but Shire doesn’t care. Key decides to take matters into his own hands when he sends information to Clarity on Shire. At the hospital, Cable extracts information from Irene on the Undying, how they operate and their purpose, as well as the identity of another member who only watches, Azazel. Lea stops by the room with news from Clarity. He’s found Azazel and wants Cable back at his place. Meanwhile, the Harmonists travel back into the past to make sure Cable starts their timeline. They manage to track down his energy signature, and despite the looming Ranshi who are sure to attack when they let their shields down, the Harmonists plan on extracting him. At Clarity’s, Cable learns about Azazel who is supposedly guarding some ancient temple in the Sinai. At this point Cable is teleported into the Harmonist ship. The Ranshi take advantage of the situation and teleport in an attack platoon. With both sides tearing each other apart Cable intervenes. He asks each side what they want him to do. The Ranshi want him to prevent the assassination of Shire, thereby allowing their future to unfold. The Harmonists want the assassination to go as planned, thereby starting the path to their future.

Cable #79-84 Continued...

Back at Shire’s, Bridge pays the Undying One a visit and warns him there’s someone coming for him, someone powerful. Shire orders that person killed if they try. Back in the Harmony timeship, Cable wants more details on the assassination attempt, but both sides only know a name, Domino. Cable is released from the Harmony timeship and travels to his safehouse where he fills Blaquesmith in on recent events and receives some new gear. He heads back to Madison Square Garden where Shire is set to speak. He’s not alone as the Aentaros-possessed Domino sneaks inside too. Before the climactic showdown can occur Cable receives another visit from the Three Witches who warn him of the consequences of his decision, that two future realities hang in the balance. The show begins, and after taking Bridge out of the fight, Cable battles Domino. The battle lasts a while, Cable losing his weapon, but in the end he is able to activate a round of ammunition that encases Domino in a tight force field. He also manipulates Shire into a barrage of obscenities, which causes the crowd to turn against him. Both the Ranshi and Harmony timelines immediately erase, as Cable prevented Shire’s death, but also turned everyone against him. Mission accomplished, Cable talks to Key and Wall about his upcoming operation to free Shire and Domino of their possession. During this meeting he receives another brief psychic distress call from Rachel, which he resigns to answer after putting an end to Undying once and for all.

Cable and his crew arrive at the fortress of the Undying. There, they meet Berger and Sheik Hamid. Beast discovers the rocky formation surrounding the door is merely an illusion. Key then uses his mutant powers to interface with the computer system monitoring the door. They gain access and discover not a cavernous lair, but an ancient starship. They also find five bodies in holding tanks in the center of the room. Key heads to the computer terminal and learns that Azazel is the ship’s artificial intelligence. Suddenly the holding tanks burst open wide, the Undying returning to their host bodies. They attack the invaders and Cable is eventually able to subdue them. Key learns about their origin from the computer system and relays it to everyone else, including the diabolical game they’ve been playing with each other to see who could kill the most people. Cable tells Key to change the settings of the game so that they can only inhabit the bodies of cockroaches. The Undying mount one last offensive, but their bodies fail them. With the new settings locked in Cable and crew leave the starship, satisfied with a job well done. Later, Cable visits Irene in the hospital and tells her the whole story. He suddenly finds himself teleported to either the Ranshi or Harmony timeship where Eyla and Sandella greet him. They forgive him and explain they’re joining forces to make the universe a better place. After they both kiss him he is returned to Irene, none the worse for the wear. Sometime later, Cable meditates on the visions he’s been receiving about his sister, Rachel, captured by some madman name Gaunt.

X-Force #102-105

Six months ago, Pete Wisdom returned to England aboard a ship, where he encountered Alistaire Stuart. They discussed various things, mostly the under-world of society, spies, and crimes against mutants. Wisdom warned Alistaire that people are keeping an eye on him, and people like him. Today, Major Valentina Rychenko and her officers are attempting to take down the mysterious Russian facility known as Science City 51, where innocent civilians are in danger from meatspore automatons. They are assisted by Pete Wisdom, and X-Force. Meltdown can now manifest her time-bombs as streams of plasma, and Bedlam is more powerful than before. Their combined teamwork takes down Science City 51. Wisdom reminds X-Force about their mission to take down dark places and seek vengeance from wrong doings to mutants. Later, in San Francisco, a woman jogging along a street suddenly convulses and starts shooting beams of energy from her eyes. At Science City 53, somewhere in Russia, Wisdom receives a report from his ally Valentina Rychenko regarding the mysterious Cuckoo, an organisation which was essentially the shadow of the CIA, devoted to analysing, advising on and reacting to “unusual threats”. Dr Niles Roman was Cuckoo’s only known administrator, working with technologies and sciences ten times what Cuckoo’s resources never knew about, but assassination attempts on his life left him transformed. Tension runs a little high between Cannonball and Meltdown, before Wisdom joins them and they depart for San Francisco. Elsewhere, Dr Niles Roman receives a report that the San Francisco installation is active, and the mad scientist is pleased that the bioreactor has finally triggered.

En route home, X-Force learn that they will be taking up base at an old facility that Cuckoo once operated out of. He reveals to them a story about drugs testing on the general population of San Francisco in the 1950s. In San Francisco, people start changing, mutating, developing powers that are out of control. X-Force get caught up in a traffic jam as they head into the city, and their car is soon shunted off the road and down a cliff. Dr Niles Roman and Ford close in on San Francisco. The mad scientist is thrilled to see the chaos that his bio-reactor has unleashed. The city is in flames and people have been transformed. X-Force makes their way back up to the freeway, to find all the civilians in their cars unconscious. In the city itself, numerous civilians now with powers unleash them on others, killing them. Mid-flight, X-Force are attacked by a transformed person, but manage to escape. Roman and Ford arrive at an old observation suite, where they promptly set up and observe the chaos around the city on various monitors. Wisdom takes X-Force to another old Cuckoo facility where he wants to set up base, explaining that it was also used as a SHIELD observation post, but long ago abandoned. He reveals to X-Force more about Niles Roman, and explains that he created a bio-reactor which caused mutants to mutate rapidly, frying specific chemical triggers in the brain, but the bio-reactor was buried under San Francisco, only it was on a timer. Wisdom watches the chaos in the city on monitors, while X-Force depart to save the world from itself. At his own observation facility, the mad scientist Dr Niles Roman finds that he is having trouble keeping watch, as if someone is piggy-backing on their cameras and the signal is being split. Ford is able to the trace the signal. Roman knows the SHIELD facility is abandoned, and supposes that whoever is using it, is in charge of his foes. X-Force soon come across some civilians in danger, holed up in a store, where police officers are shooting at the mutated humans. Cannonball wastes no time in giving X-Force orders as part of a plan, which they carry out, though it involves the ever-reluctant Bedlam once again pushing his powers to the limit. Wisdom discovers a severely mutated group of civilians, merged into one creature, sitting on top of the bio-reactor. Observing the mutated civilians that Bedlam took out with an electro-pulse, X-Force learn that they revert to their normal selves. Wisdom reports that the bio-reactor is at least three hundred feet right underneath them. Cannonball blasts into the sky, ready to “bomb” his way underground, but the creature emerges, and Bedlam is forced to confront it, doing so, he manages to split the creature apart, rescuing the civilians. Cannonball dives into the hole, and destroys the bio-reactor. Wisdom is pleased at X-Force’s good work, but he is soon confronted by Niles Roman, who shoots him. X-Force return to the SHIELD base, on a high after their successful mission, only to find Wisdom, dead.

X-Force #106-109

Six months ago, Cannonball, Moonstar, Meltdown, Proudstar and Bedlam engage Domino in a training exercise at their warehouse headquarters. But Domino tells them that they are sloppy and slow, and points out that when the High Evolutionary stripped them of their powers, it was a wake-up call that they need to be better trained. Suddenly, Pete Wisdom appears, and after mocking Domino, reveals he was invited. Cannonball and Bedlam admit they invited Wisdom, for after the Genosha incident, Wisdom offered to train them and help them enter the “spook world” to seek vengeance on the injustices done to mutants and humanity. Domino refuses to allow this to happen, but Cannonball tells her that it isn’t her choice. Moonstar is the most upset however, and after Cannonball points out that X-Force has no purpose and is always reacting instead of acting, Bedlam declares that Xavier’s dream is just a dream. Wisdom offers to teach X-Force new things about themselves in his quest to make the world a better place. Cannonball and Bedlam have already made up their minds, and Proudstar and Meltdown join them. Moonstar lashes out at Wisdom for tearing X-Force apart, but pointing at himself, Cannonball, Proudstar, Meltdown and Bedlam, he tells her that she is looking at X-Force. Today, Cannonball, Proudstar, Meltdown and Bedlam attend a funeral - for Pete Wisdom.

No one else attends, not even Shadowcat or any of Excalibur. They remember everything Wisdom has done for them, and decide to carry on together, when an old woman arrives. She lights a match on Wisdom’s coffin, then departs. When she leaves, Domino emerges from the shadows and explains that it was Romany Wisdom, Pete’s sister. X-Force accompany their old friend to a coffee house, where Domino begins to reveal her whereabouts since they abandoned her. Domino explains that she is scared, and recounts how she took a mercenary job for a while, which put her in contact with a man called Marcus Tsung, a man with the mutant gene for murder, who is coming for her once more.

Skrq4lo.jpg

Six months ago, Wisdom took X-Force to an old Hulkbuster compound in Nevada, where he trained them further in the use of their mutant powers, most notably, teaching Proudstar to fly and Meltdown to create her plasma in the form of beams as opposed to bombs. Today, Domino seems surprised that Meltdown is able to hack databases and at how much her former teammates know about the underworld. They explain how much Wisdom has changed them, before Domino reveals what she had uncovered about Marucs Tsung’s history, including that he used to kill bull elephants with his bare hands. Meltdown ask Domino why he is after her, to which Domino explains that he has already killed her once before. In California, Marcus Tsung arrives, killing those who were sent to greet him, he leaves bloody footprints in the sand, before driving away. Domino shows X-Force the strange creature that is somehow stuck to her back. Bedlam attempts to scan it with his electro-powers, only the creature seems to scan him right back.

s2qQ0Xs.jpg

Domino reveals that after her first encounter with Tsung, she went underground, changing her appearance, but that he found her and killed her, only she woke to find herself about to undergo an autopsy. She escaped, her appearance back to normal, save the creature on her back. Tsung arrives at a birthday party, where he proceeds to kill everyone in an instant, even the children. He receives a phone call, informing him that he is to concentrate on Domino, that X-Force will be dealt with. X-Force and Domino are waiting for their help - a bus pulls up and a compartment underneath opens. They enter and meet three strange people called Abel, Baker and Charlie. Tensions are high due to the three having association with Wisdom, and are upset at his death. Bedlam locates two archaeological digs which have fossils matching the creature’s physiology - there are two of them, which means there is another creature out there somewhere. Shortly though, black helicopters descend over the city, and drop missiles on the bus! Cannonball takes to the air and engages the choppers, while Bedlam causes one of them to crash to the ground. Tsung closes in on X-Force, attempting to kill Cannonball, he finds his power cannot breach Cannonball’s force field when he is blasting. Tsung runs up the side of a building, and attacks Cannonball, causing him fall to the ground, Tsung prepares to break his neck, but Bedlam attacks him, holding him in an electro-hold, Proudstar prepares to take Tsung out, but Tsung grabs Proudstar and causes him to fall on Bedlam. The villain turns his attention back to Cannonball, only Meltdown places her hands over Tsung’s eyes and releases a massive surge of plasma, seemingly defeating him. Tsung suddenly gets up, his face burnt and one eye missing, he grabs Meltdown, and Domino shoots him, when suddenly, Romany Wisdom appears, she gives the order for her men to take Tsung out, and they do. Romany gives Wisdom’s old allies a stern warning, before telling X-Force that they are to come with her, as Domino has Armageddon attached to her back. Possessed by the creature, Domino attacks Romany and Cannonball, and tentacles emerge from the creature, until Romany shoots her. Later, X-Force are met by Romany, who reports that Domino is fine, that they got to her in time. She reveals that they honestly don’t know what the creature is, but think it is sentient technology of an alien component. Romany assures X-Force that they can go home with Domino, while she will keep the device. Cannonball challenges Romany, questioning as to where she is who she says she is, pointing out her difference in appearance since they last saw her. Romany gives X-Force the hard word about Pete Wisdom, revealing that there is a reason he was a zealot, driven to punish those who had inflicted terrible injustices - because before Black Air, he committed atrocities against mutants himself. Romany suggests to X-Force that they go home and get a life, before they bury another friend, or their friend has to bury them.
