listened to No Way Out from front to back...GREAT ALBUM. Fav tracks other than Victory and all about the Benjamins is "is this the end" and "what you gonna do"

Bought Diplomatic Immunity when it was like 7.99 at Circuit City...ON RELEASE DAY!!!! Still gets heavy rotation til this day. Def one of my all time favs.

Preciate the contribution Em

I've NEVER met a person in real life that prefers illmatic over IWW. That idea only exists amongst internet nerds and do called purist. IWW still sounds current, with the exception of NY state of mind, Illmatic sounds extremely dated.

btw, im going to give preference to albums offered as part of Amazon's Prime music service. They have a bunch of older hip hop stuff available for streaming.

had a podnuh in college was a CRAZY ghostface fan. He was from Baton Rouge too lol. Who would've thought. Nigga was a spitting image of Brian Pumper, and was dressed like the WuTang cats back in college.

I'll probably start this on the way home and report back

aight fellas,

btw, thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread

so i just wrapped up supreme clientele

My previous experience with this album consisted of "apollo kids" (GREAT workout song) and "cherchez laghost".

So, ok, I can get down with Ghostface. Album was a solid joint. There were a couple of joints I wasnt really feeling, mainly Nutmeg and The Grain.

Standout songs to me (outside of the singles):

-Buck 50

-Malcolm

-Wu Banga

-Child's Play

I give this album a solid 6.5/10.

Thats because the people you'e talking to herd IWW first.

If you heard Illmatic first, played it for two years and listened to It Was Written second you'd agree that Nas went commercial with It Was Written.

The reason we liked Illmatic is because it was underground. The only "commercial" song was Life's a Bitch.

I appreciate the going back and checking albums you missed but how are you coming up with full blown reviews after just one binge listen???

good question. I'm trying to get caught up on a ton of work, so i think the best reviews are often the ones that are right on the spot.

I'm not a magazine publication lol, so my thoughts should be based on a first listen perspective. Put it like this, there are only maybe 5 albums off the top of my head that in my personal experience, the first listen blew me away vs albums that eventually became favorites of mine after several listens.
