I usually don't like KW moves right away, but I kinda like this one considering what Washington wanted him at the deadline. Beckham and Viciedo smh. Now they get him for nothing. I've had enough of Ozzie trying to tailor his team to an NL team, its time to get back to what works in the AL…more Power!

plus, on some intangible shit, down over here you got Kenny Williams busy signing Adam Dunn and AJ and attempting to re-sign Konerko while on the other side of town Jim Hendry busy signing Jeff Baker and the Ricketts asking the state for money again

lol

all is well

The cubs and losing go hand in hand, as long as they making a profit and the dumb fans keep supporting a garbage team the owners are happy

if you from here then you already know every White Sox fan has a little bit of hater in them when it comes down to the Cubs. Some more than others though. I'm mild with my shit

it's a good signing if they can keep Konerko. Dunn is a younger Jim Thome. I don't think it will put them over the top. That's all going to depend on the pitching staff. Hopefully Kenny Williams suckers someone for Carlos Quentin while he still has trade value for some bullpen help

i'll tell you what i like Carlos Quentin and wouldn't mind at all if we keep him. i hear what you're saying though and it'd be good either way

listening to the Dunn press conference now - exciting stuff.

honestly, the Sox have gotten weaker in the bullpen and I don't know if their starting rotation will stay healthy. I don't know if they are gonna bring back sweaty Freddy but there is no way in hell he can do what he did in 2010. You already know what you'll get with Beuhrle, Danks and Floyd and hopefully Jackson continues to improve under Don Cooper, but I don't see Peavy back at full strength until June(if at all).

as of right now, I see a third place finish but I'll continue to hope for the best

Red Sox just got adrian gonzalez

http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/mlb/news/story?id=5882356

The Boston Red Sox have agreed to a deal in principle to acquire slugging first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney on Saturday morning.

The Red Sox have received permission from Major League Baseball to negotiate with Gonzalez on a new contract, the sources said, and Gonzalez's physical examination, one of the last hurdles to the deal, could happen Saturday, as Gonzalez was in Boston after being flown in by the team.

The Padres would not receive any established major league players in the trade, but it's likely the Red Sox would include their top pitching prospect, Casey Kelly, sources have said. Red Sox prospects Anthony Rizzo and Ryan Kalish also have been brought up as possible pieces, sources said.

Sources told Olney it's very possible the Gonzalez deal would mean the end of Adrian Beltre's time with the Red Sox, because although Kevin Youkilis could move to left field, Boston's preference probably would be to shift Youkilis to third base.

He is signed through 2011 at $6.3 million. The Padres exercised his 2011 option Nov. 1. His contract called for a $5.5 million salary, but performance bonuses pushed the figure above $6 million.

Acquiring Gonzalez, while signing one of two free-agent outfielders, Carl Crawford or Jayson Werth, would give the Red Sox their most potent offensive lineup since the Manny Ramirez trade to the Dodgers in 2008 and make clear why they were willing to lose free agents Victor Martinez and potentially Beltre.

The Red Sox have long coveted the 28-year-old Gonzalez. As far back as the 2009 trading deadline, the Red Sox made a pitch for Gonzalez, a three-time All-Star who last season finished fourth in balloting for the National League's Most Valuable Player.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound left-handed hitter batted .298 with 31 home runs and 101 RBIs for the Padres last season. He finished fifth in the National League in on-base percentage (.393), ninth in slugging (.511) and led the league in hitting with runners in scoring position (.407).

Opposing pitchers issued 35 intentional walks to Gonzalez last season, a number exceeded only by Albert Pujols.

In addition to his offensive prowess, Gonzalez is a gifted defender, having won two Gold Gloves in five full seasons.

this makes up for the loss of victor as far his bat goes, one more move (crawford/werth) and our lineup will be amongst the best

So, Jayson Werth went and signed with the Nationals for a 7yr/126mil deal, huh? Congrats to him, but I know he doesn't think he's gonna do any winning anytime soon with that God awful team.

On another note, Werth's departure from the Phils pretty much hands the NL East over to my Braves. That Dan Uggla signing is gonna be the truth come Opening Day and beyond when next season rolls around, esp if Chipper Jones' knee doesn't force him into retirement just yet. I just hope they can keep Uggla beyond just renting him for next year, though.

People in Philly are all up in arms on the websites and such. They don't even realize that the Phils NEVER had a chance to sign him w/o breaking the bank open for him. Werth's not worth $126 million. He wasn't traded to the Nats; he left as a Free Agent. Also, with Scott Boras being Werth's agent, Dude was as good as gone once the final out of the World Series was made and Free Agency for 2011 began.

My early guess is that the Nats will have about 80-90 losses this coming season. That franchise just seems to not be able to put together a winning team on the field.

We took it to arbitration but the nigga was too greedy. He'd rather get paid on a bum squad then take a little less money on a potential World Series team. Fuck him. It's like Amare and the Suns all over again
