Macklemore is doing what he does best. He panders to certain groups and find some way to sneak dis hiphop culture. That pandering to the old school heads is just his way off taking eyes off him from the blatant robbery of Kendrick Lamar.

this nigga needs to shut up. he sounds bitter as fuck. those artist praise alot of the hiphop greats. hes just not one of em

Niggas is really talking about Melle Mel like he isn't the reason every rapper you most likely listen to even exist(as a rapper).

How is he dissing hip hop "culture"

I'm all for niggas paying homage and knowing the history of their craft. In fact, I wish more rap artists recognized those that came before them. However, that does not necessarily mean I need to put yo corny, outdated ass flow on one of my records. Fuhgiddaboutit.

Macklemore is comfortable coming off like a cornball. No one is "hating" on him for having some legends on his shit. He's just once again putting out basura wrapped in corny and is getting blasted for it. Nothing more.

Melle Mel is the muthafucka that sounds like a bitter ex. Foh with that wack shit.

Melle Mel always talkin shit. I remember a couple of years back in the 2000s he dissed 2pac in an interview, and 2pac actually put Melle on a song for the One Nation project. SMH...

I believe they should listen to music from the forefathers but I don't necessarily believe you need to reach out to anyone. if you a fav artist or someone who heavily influenced you then sure reach out. youngins don't need Melle Mel's approval

I don't think anything wrong with what he said. He basically saying the white boy getting some hate for trying to "use the legends." He just saying maklemore showed love when other more down artists wouldn't.

If that's how he feel that's how he feel. As a elder he should be able to at least speak his mind.

Maklemore is not getting hate for using legends, he's getting hate for using them as props.

People are rightfully still upset with him winning multiple hip hop awards over more deserving rappers. He's aware of that, so he decided that using Melle Mel as a prop would keep the black folk quiet. He was wrong.

Or maybe he just wanted to show appreciation for those who came before?

Alot of his music is condescending. That "i am not like those materialistic black rappers who rap about name brands, i wear Goodwill clothes'' shit. I can read through that mf. He is appealing to those same racist ass Eminem fans who think Eminem isn't like those other black rappers.

2pac said he would destroy Melle Mel, Rakim, Kane, etc. He also said they showed him love, but he would destroy them.

2pac logic.

Melle Mel needs to get off that shyt....Dont worry about who's not showing love and focus on those that are...@5 talk to ya boy...lol

Not a Macklemore fan, but how is giving props to the creators a sneak diss? You're reaching.

He is using Melle Mel to divert from the fact of what happened to Kendrick and a lot of hiphop fans felt he won the Grammy because he is white. It's a diversion tactic imo. Same way he tried to save face by kissing K Dots ass after the Grammy's.

Its unbelievable that somebody would go on a Hip Hop message board and diss Melle Mel.

If it wasn't for Melle Mel this messagebord wouldn't be here.
