when you buy a home theres something called "settlement cost" downpayment is about 3.5% of that ... most people will have to pay out @least 10% of what the house cost ... which means @ the least depending on your negotiating skills you will be @least paying 7.5% of that potential 10% ..... when i brought my house last year i got the previous owner to help me with settlement .... i ended up just paying 3% of my potential 10% settlement cost which was a little over $3,000 out of my pocket without that money from the previous owner i would of easily spent another $6k @closing .... its alot deeper than that but just keeping it simple for those who arent fully aware of these terms .....

fyi as a first time homebuyer you are just eligible for state programs that may assist in paying these cost but most are just loans so you eventually pay it just over time with INTEREST ... the state of delaware was offering an 3% grant which would of had me walking away pretty much paying NOTHING but i didnt qualify for that grant ..... ..... but what i wanted to also say for those who are looking to buy an home another benefit as a first time buyer you can actually ask for up to 6% settlement help from the seller ... BUT the seller has no obligation to give you any settlement help ....... i pretty much got lucky lol simply cause the lady that owned house pretty much had it paid off ... 6% was nothing compared to what she was going to walk away with @ closing ....

to be honest meek can afford it ... but this was an promo event ... im pretty sure this was apart of his marketing budget to promote his upcoming projects .... smart tho imo it falls in the lane of #newrules which is prob why jayz supported the event ........

this is the type of ish i used to do but on a much smaller scale ... to kick promo off and to also leverage the money ... spend and make it all back @ the door and hopefully turn a profit ... but the goal is to @least get back what we spent

u posted a lot but I bought my first crib in 08 and I got on the 1st time home buyer program that Obama passed and I ain't have to pay nothing but 1000 for lawyer fee and another 1000 for closing cost. that ain't no $$ for a house close to 200,000 . maybe it was different for you.
