Marriage: Is Marriage For White People?

A lot of Black men have no problem cohabitating and impregnating Black women, but when the subject of marriage is brought up many get distant and disillusioned.

Black women already have a limited pool to choose from, but they'd do better if they were selective about the type of man they chose to have these children with and tie their lives too.

I don't think marriage is an antiquated concept, but I believe many people marry for the wrong reasons and when things get thick either one or both parties are ready to bounce.

'Blacks need to define marriage for ourselves' --Why don't you get the ball rolling on this one and build on the standard definition or marriage which is a legal and or spiritual union of two human beings, typically male and female.

This is not a construct of the 'oppressor', marriage as we know it is almost universal except in the rare cases of polygamy or arranged marriages.
