UK retail tracking company GFK Chart-Track announced today that Mario Kart 8's release on Friday helped Wii U hardware sales rise a massive (and devilish) 666 percent in the UK. Nintendo believes that a single title can alter the fate of a platform; could Mario Kart 8 be that game?

Specific sales figures were not divulged, and Chart-Track does not track digital sales, but the firm added that 82 percent of total Mario Kart 8 sales in the UK came through the Mario Kart 8 bundle. In addition, Mario Kart 8 recorded the best-selling first week for any Wii U game since the platform's launch in the UK in 2012.

Overall, Mario Kart 8 was the second best-selling game of the week, only behind Ubisoft's Watch Dogs, which is the fastest selling game in Ubisoft's history. But like me and others with some sense said before, where's the games? People bought these systems and didn't buy any games? Only true so called "next gen" games that sold anywhere near this game were dead rising 3 and titanfall(and mario kart is still flying off shelves). I don't even here anything about those games anymore. When the games everybody really really wants finally come out they gonna do G.T.A 5 numbers.

It's been fucking 2 years now!!! for the wii U and we pretty much got nothing lol. Those were low quality(but fun games) and you know it. Nintendo is bull shitting waiting on the other systems to make their move before the start dropping real shit.

Galaxy came a year after launch, same as 3D World.

3D World has a 93 metacritic and won several GOTY awards.

None of the systems are "actually" doing bad, they all sold a lot of systems. You will see these system sales jump even higher for all systems when actual games niggas want drop. I just picked up a reserved copy for my lil cousin yesterday. These little kids in there were mad because they were all gone when they tried to buy a copy. I didn't really think nothing of it till today when I came across that video. I played it a little and that shit is fun as hell. DIddy kong racing still >>>>> though lol(from what I've experienced so far.

I'm getting my wii U at the end of the year. I'm also getting my x box close to next summer when shit starts picking up. These systems aint worth no damn $400 - $500 smh FUCK OUT OF HERE!!

I'm not a fan of the "New Super" games, except for the one on U. Didn't really like the DS, 3DS or Wii versions all that much. But sales wise, those games shit all over 3D Mario games and 99.9% of games in general. Hard to blame Nintendo for thinking launching a console with one would push units.

A few of my friends aren't buying PS4s or XB1s until the price comes down and/or more games they're interested in come out. It's crazy how everyone flocked to cop them with little to no games out on them but I guess it's fun to play with a smaller online community too. It's not like ppl stopped playing PS3 and 360, shit the new Street Fighter bout to drop for them joints there's still plenty of games left to play on those consoles.
