Lyricism as a Gimmick, Why is it not as ridiculed as other perceived Gimmicks?

This post my come across as biased to the viewer all these claims are disputable and are left open ended to stimulate discussion
Honestly the difference between Slaughterhouse and a guy like Lupe is quite distinct .Lupe has a complete skillset as far as rapper imo .He can rock a party,make a conscious songs,Spit with some of and hang with any type of artist on beat.Dude is a complete artist in every since.Unlike Slaughterhouse who it seems out of group of 5 members non can make a song to rock a party at all.Most times it comes down to them dissing their imaginary rivals,enemies and just random shots and barbs thrown out.They truly are just battle rappers spitting over wax.All together these guys dont have half the ability lupe has solely because of the fact they arent hip hop artist they are just battle rappers.

IMO ROyce makes better music than Lupe by miles..............Lupe is overrated as fuck, makes wack ass music and is more of a nerd ass rapping ass niggga than Slaughterhouse (exept maybe Budden)...

Being a battle rapper is still a staple in Hip Hop but when you transition into being a paid recording artist ,Those skills sometimes don't translate well onto wax.All those random open ended disses and threats tend to be shallow and pointless.I never said there is a problem with it but having a complete skillset is way better and being able to transition between various styles of rapping increases your albums worth and longevity a thousand fold.Take guys like jay electronica and immortal technique ( yes i know they are extremes) they can take that battle rap intensity and wittyness and craft something entirely different out of it.Jay E is like Rakim while IT is like Ice Cube,Parish and Chuck D (Intense ,straight forward).Two guys who are from the same background and similar subject matter but two entirley different and unique flows and formats.

I have and its not even close in my view Food and Liquor is complete trash....Lasers is one of the worst albums dropped this year....I aint fuck with The Cool after that shit stain first Album Lupe Dropped......THis nigga is a fucking nerd with a nerd ass voice who tries to come off as deep but plays himself with wack songs and beats.... Royce Catalaouge shits on Lupe....Crooked aint dropp anything so I live him out...I prefer Joell shit over Lupe too its not even close either..

In terms of slaughterhouse i would give the nod to Buddens as the guy that makes better music. Royce can spit but his albums just are lame. His last 2 albums are stragiht snooze fests. At least Buddens give you a feel and some emotion.

Some cats use that word lyrical as a crutch to compensate for their lack of ability. Some cats just know how to use big words and string together multisyllables, and people confuse that with lyricism. Cats like Canibus, Papoose, and various other mixtape rappers pride themselves on being lyrical, but if no one gives a fuck about your lyrics, then your lyrical ability is greatly exaggerated. That's why that "lyrical miracle spiritual" line that Em spat in the BET cypher was funny as fuck... that summed up every mixtape rapper tryna bring lyricism back, but don't be saying shit behind all those multis.
