Lyricism as a Gimmick, Why is it not as ridiculed as other perceived Gimmicks?

Yeah right, it baffles me how most of you can't even master comprehension but want to talk about being lyrical. Claims of being superior lyrically is the topic and it is a gimmick and it is the preferred gimmick in hip hop.

I wouldn't say it's THE preferred gimmick in hip hop, especially nowadays. A lot of folks today would rather swag their audience to death. But dudes without "swag" use being "lyrical" as a crutch to compensate. But really, they lack both, so they just come off corny.

Well, I think it is the preferred gimmick amongst so-called hip hop heads and people that claim to be backpackers. That is the average person on a site like this.
