I was just like you at one point.

I used to dismiss shit I couldn't understand, too. I would ask myself "What the fuck is this I'm listening to?"; "What is this nigga sayin'?"; "How can people relate to this dictionary ass nigga?". But then, I decided to no longer be a statistic. And it was at that point, that I became proactive.

I promise you, my son, there IS light at the end of the tunnel. A brighter day will come and you will no longer be intimidated by words, ideas, and concepts that seem foreign to you now.

i mean yall niggas on this site act like this niga got classics under his belt or lead a movement or somethin. i think yall hold this niga in such high regards because he is one of the few ppl NOW who got lyrics n got decent song makin ability but to me he overrated just like ur boys in ym.

I honestly could care less if other people listen to him or not, I just like Lupe's music. It's dope to me.

First off, you can't compare Lupe with Young Money because they're on two completely different stratospheres.

Young Money is the shadow; Lupe is the light. If the members of Young Money were playing football, Lupe would be the stadium that they played on, and the sun that shown down on them.

Young Money is nothing; and Lupe is pretty much everything (that Young Money is not).

In context, Lupe is appreciated by those who can understand what he's saying.

Lmao, I c/s this

Yea most of Lupe fans be steady piepriders talking about dude is the savior of hip-hop. But then again lupe has the internet on lockdown. Anyways I like his mixtapes waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy more than his albums. F&L was hot but it wasn't a classic...close....but not a classic. After dude got signed his music has start falling off a bit due to him dumbing it down somewhat. Homie is still nice don't get me wrong but all this knob-slobbin people are doing like he's rapping quantum physics is on some groupie steez

Lupe is nice but his metaphors/similes etc. can be lost to most listeners

As a non-Lupe Fiasco fan, I would say Food and Liquor but The Cool had too many skippable tracks

I would honestly say all four Slaughterhouse rappers are better than Lupe

Ok, take away Joe Budden so because of how moody his music is

But Crooked, Royce, and especially Joell are better rappers than Lupe

Sure, they don't have number 1 albums or number 1 singles, but Lupe stans say the same thing in defending him

How are you defining "rappers" here? The ability to be personable? Flow?

If you're basing it on lyrical complexity, then I call bullshit because there's no way in hell any member of Slaughterhouse is more intricate than Lupe. Especially not Joell, because he's not even the best outta Slaughterhouse.

I guess he is appreciated because he is mainstream yet he has not over saturated the market like Wayne and he is lyrical and can make songs. Is he on the same level as Jay, Big, Pac, or Nas no but he gets it in.

co sign to the fullest

Lookin at the last five tracks: The Cool, Hurt Me Soul, Pressure, American Terrorist, Emperor's Soundtrack

Maybe a difference in taste but all of those are solid tracks to me...maybe skip emperor's soundtrack, its not as easily appealin but even then the beat was hot and he still spit

nah, emperor's soundtrack was nice as shit, b.
