Lupe Fiasco=Future G.O.A.T.??

His hype is similar to Drake in the sense that his fans swear that he the best thing to happen to hip-hop in history. But unlike Drake Lupe does have skills but no personality. I co -sign that Lyrically Slaughterhouse is superior to Lupe (aside for Budden..I never was fan of his emo shit). Lupe lyrics arent that hard to understand his fans overrate the complexity of his lyricism. There plenty of ill lyrical MC's that I would listen over Lupe in a heartbeat.

its more to it than that... it doesnt matter if u rhyme over popular beats or if u do it a ccapella..if u lyrical then u are lyrical...i agree dude got lyrics and i think dude has potential but to this point in his career he isnt great...he has to add more to his game

What else does he need to add....he has multiple flows, lyrically a monster, great storytelling...dude has all the intagibles to be a legend....1 classic album and and you could debate the other one....In my opinion he's the best out....

I think he's slightly overrated by some of his fans... he hasn't attained greatness yet... he's just being 4/5 years in and only two albums deep

But he is among the Top 5 finest in the game now...

Royce Da 5'9 discovery completely shits on Lupe's by a wide margin. Lyrically Crooked I is superior to Lupe and is Joell Ortiz. Budden as always been the weakest of SH to me.

slaughterhouse is great at what they do, just like lupe is great at what he does.

at the end of the day tho, id say lupe is better simply because of what he talks about. as i get older, im starting to realize that more and more niggas arent saying anything. they are just rhyming to be rhyming...or spewing punchlines for the sake of spitting them.

Co-sign and a matter of preference... The Cool >>> Food & Liqour

^^style... plain and simple thats what he needs to add. and ya i know blah blah blah blah.... who cares about style its about lyrics...etc... well the truth is that shit does matter.... Big, Jay, Pac, etc... are legends because they not only had lyrics n all that but they had that style that everyone liked. Lupe is missing that. He just sounds like some regular ole dude that is rapping. Nothing special in his delivery or style.

n anyone who wants to hate on that go ahead but plain n simple its the truth. Hip hop started on style.... it was about swagger at first. then came slick rick, big daddy kane, etc... and it was more of the same. Lyrics are always gonna set u over the top. But you gotta have that style n delivery to catch the people and make you great and thats just a fact

dude asked what was great about him, and i told him.

basically u said his lyrics and my point is simple...there are plenty of rappers who are lyrical so saying someone is a great lyricist doesnt make him a great rapper....lupe is not a complete package...lets take lyrics off the table...where is dude impact or influenceon the game? he is not pushing the game to a new height...u cant say someone is great and ur only reason is his lyrically ability

^^thats exactly what i've been sayin and exactly right. u aren't great just cause your great a 1 thing. it takes more then that

Someone in a previous thread about Lupe said it best. "He stands out cause he's on an island in a sea of wackness". I'm still laughing at that thread "Lupe 2 albums are better than Biggie's" that is actually a Hall of Fame thread here on All Hip Hop. Go Read it and see why dudes are now calling Lupe over-rated by internet fans. The thought of his LP's seeing two of Hip Hop's landmarks was laughable. Lupe is dope, I don't think anyone can deny it and if you are then I don't know what to say cause he's definely better than most in the game right now. My issue is now dudes online trying to put his name with the Bgigie's, NaS's and Jay's. Sorry he's not that level, I don't care how great you think his lyrics are. His LP's are not game changers and neither had any real Impact on the game. They were just solid LP's. "F&L" is a Classic to me but I understand that time only verify's Classics and it's only 4 years old and "The Cool" is only 3 years old. Both LP's are still very young. Again he stands out in a game full of wack rappers and albums. So yes ONLINE he does get a little to much hype. He's dope, cool but dudes want to put him with the Elite which he is not Elite. He's not even the GOAT out of his own state: "KanYe > Lupe". KanYe has better albums than Lupe, bar none. "Common > Lupe", Common has better albums than Lupe, Bar None.

I'm done with this shit.....I respect everyone opinions....dude is an Elite Artist to ME.....and in my honest Opinon F&L and The Cool > B.I.G Catelogue....You can say I'm sick in the head or whatever but I was 7 when R2D came out and 10 when LAD came out...I wasn't listening to him....I respect him as an artist but I just never got into him.....

The bolded isn't necessarily true...because there's a plethura of talented emcees in the game right now.

That's clearly just an aversion to the fact that Lupe has the lyrical proficiencies (and material) to be mentioned with the greats.

Co-sign on how i feel about Lupe. He talented and dope lyricist but none of his LP are true classics of hip-hop. (Personal Classic for some of his fan yeah but hip-hop classic nope). You can possibly add Twista to that list of Chi MC whose best albums that are better than Lupe. Like you said none of his albums any major impact or influence on the game. Also when they were released hip-hop critics /reviews no one was calling F&L or The Cool Classic good solid albums yes.. Classic No.
