Dude has the talent to "make it". He was able to crossover without losing his "street cred" but not able to stay outta jail. smh

What I dont understand is why Lupe would sign with Atlantic knowing that they want him to put #s up and with his style he shouldve known that wasnt gonna happen. He shouldve signed with Rawkus....o wait.

o wait what???

Not like Lasers and at least TI had a legit excuse to why it wasnt top notch.

Technically Lupe's excuse is legit and not totally unbelievable.... niggas just dont like to believe lupe given his track record. But it was just as wack imo, I will admit no mercy had some decent tracks though... track with pharrell, drake

T.I, is pop with street appeal. His earlier stuff was decent but now he's pure garbage IMO.

Trap Musik wasn't pop, and was released by Atlantic

besides if Atlantic is part of the agenda, why would they allow Lupe to release Lasers, and in almost every song the lyrical content is against holding black folks down

Thats exactly what we as fans have to roll with. Atlantic put out FnL and The Cool why cant we expect something at least similar to those?

he even talks about sellin his soul on the intro... gotdayum...

Seems I'm getting out of control
Feels like I'm running out of soul

You're getting heavy to hold
Think I'll be letting you go

My self-portrait,
Shows a man that the wealth tortured,
Self absorbed with his own self,

Forfeit a shelf fulla awards,
Worshipping the war ships that set sail on my sea of life,
The way I see my own self and wonder if we still see a light,

We was tight,
Seeing lights,
Speaking right and breathing life,
Now I see my demons and barely even sleep at night,

I don't get high,
Life keep me at a decent height,
As the old me,
I predicted all my recent plights,
Exhausted, trying to fall asleep
Lost inside my recent fights,
Burdens on my shoulders, now,
Burning all my motors down,
Inspiration drying up,
Motivation slowing down,

Seems I'm getting out of control
Feels I'm running out of soul
You're getting heavy to hold

Think ill be letting you go

I'm begging you don't let me go,
We vowed like the letter o
To never go our separate ways, (the deal he made with lucifer)

To spin off into separate shows,
Tired of all the wardrobe changing,
Playing all these extra roles,
Filled with all these different spirits,
Living off these separate souls,

Point of life is getting hollow,
Can't wait for the exit hole,
Give me room to entry wound,
Let me in or let me go,
So I can roam around this wilderness,
See it for what it really is, unprepared and filterless,
Magnify the euphony,
Alibi the shooting spree,
Amplify the revolution,
Sanitize the lunacy,
Strip away the justice,
Justify the scrutiny,
I can see the lasers shooting out of you and me

They (Atlantic) know/knew damn well he wont be a TI or Jay-z and The Cool actually went Gold so Its kinda hard to buy that Atlantic "forced" all of these poppy records on him just because "Superstar" did fairly well.
