who in this era is better than him? wayne? jeezy? kanye? lmfao foh.

Aight, let me make this clear, just cuz a rapper is technical doesn't make him a better artist than someone who is not as technical. A lot of people consider 2Pac the GOAT but you'd be hardpressed to find someone who thinks he is the most technical; song making ability has to be taken in to account, all the legendary rappers have classic songs, name me one classic Lupe song (Please don't say Kick-Push). I believe Lupe is one of the greatest technical rappers ever, but I don't think he is a good enough ARTIST to be considered one of the GOATs. If all you needed was technical skills to be considered, then Canibus would be undisputed.

Why does personality and soul matters? That's an unnecessary factor. I don't want Lu to sound like he's goin' Jay Z and Pac type tracks. It seems y'all want rappers to be the same.

Actually we don't want rappers to be the same...notice in ur example u said Jay-Z and Tupac...they fit the criteria of what u considered to have personality and soul but clearly they are two totally different rappers....u can have those qualities and be different....that post was a lil self ethering, no?

But they both had track that was their point of view and that's relatable, stupid. Shheez. 'Meets the Parents' and 'Papa'z Song'. Lupe doesn't need to follow 90's rappers.

Lupe makes JayZ look like DMX with how robotic he sounds lmao....no hate tho....he's technically sound but his mic presence and delivery needs work... when he raps its like he rappin to himself he's not really rappin like he's talking to the listener...not very engaging imo. It seems like ur underrating that aspect of MCing

He's influenced by him like Jay is to Kane, but he does stuff differently. He's mad deep; no other rappers are as deep as this dude. He's so insane, he's a legend in my book.

Lupe killed Jay-Z on two tracks already.

If u wanna count that freestyle collabo be my guest but if we talking about Pressure......ur out of ur mind. Hovs delivery alone shitted on Lupes....and that's not even factoring in the several dbl and triple entendres Hov sprinkled in there

Lmao what is deep to you?

And show me the tracks that showcase the level of 'deepness' that no other rappers have ever yet to attained to.

Damn another Lupe thread. Didn't we discuss about this not to long ago? I mean shit it was yesterday. Lupe is great, he's one of my favorite Emcees right now but he's not in my top ten list. F&L was great to me but The Cool was just alright. I need that Lasers to come out for me to say anything else. I feel he's on is way to being one of the greats but isn't he thinking about his next album being his last?

It's damn near impossible to overrate Lupe. He's a top 5 candidate and future GOAT. When he releases like 2 more albums, it'll be set in stone. People say he lacks soul.personality, charisma, but in reality he is one of the deepest rappers out, and probably the most complex. He has tons of charisma and mic presence, so I have no idea what the haters are talking about. When Lupe is on a track, you know it's him, because of his voice, his charisma, his mic presence. Stop hating.

Deep songs = The Cool, Kick Push, the Coolest, American Terrorist, Real Recognize Real, Hurt Me Soul, etc.

Dude already has a classic album, which is more than I can say for like 99.999% of all rappers.
