He will never have a better career, he was never the best player on those Laker teams and he will not win another mvp with Lebron,Wade, and Durant in the league now. He might be able to squeak out another title and that's it, but Michael Jordan is on Babe Ruth status imo in how he essentially indentifyable with the sport. Kobe just doesn't transcend basketball like MJ did, and when MJ played you knew he was the clear cut best player in the game; you can't say that at any point in Kobes career. Shaq and Duncan was better than him, then Nash made his team better, then the 03 class came on the scene and took over.

true...mike was iconic...Kobe would never have an impact on the league like Mike, Neither would Lebron...they're marketed as the next Mike for one,...the only person whose impact was anywhere close to Mike in the last decade was A.I

cosign both of yall

i like when they ask phil who's better and he throws subliminals. phil jackson quote: "kobe makes tougher shots, michael got to where he wanted to shoot from" translation: kobe can't fuck with mike

im hopin that about 5-10 years after his retirement, phil writes a book goin in on all his players. no punches pulled

yeah numbers wise as far as championships and the fact that many analysts, coaches and players call him the best in the league today, he may very well have a better career. individually, kobe came close but jordan just had way better stats at the end of the day especially if you compare their stats year by year taking age out of the equation. other than kobe, nobodys even close to being better than jordan at this point lebron and wade included.

kobe haters love these excuses to get at him with the jordan comparisons. lol

Because he will never get that adoration and idolization of a Michael when its all said and done he will be IMO.. and im a big MJ/Former Bulls fan..

But the video wont lie..
All i can say is you can legitimatley say his name in the same breath as Michael Jordan..

But people wont allow you to.. Because Kobes a bitch.. he raped that bitch..He got hit by chris childs.. ran shaq out of LA..hes a ball hog.. Shaq made him.. he is just average without shaq.. and stole someones lunch money.

I don't think Kobe is better but if he wins another title and a finals MVP it is definitely a debatable question. When he was putting up 81 on niggaz there was one point where it was envitable he was going to pass Jordan. But getting blown out by the Celtics in game 6 pretty much sealed it for me. Jordan would have never let that happen.

Kobe bean>>>>MiKe Jordan

If Kobe gets six titles he's better than Mike, look at how competitive the league is and how great the players are. Mike never played against players THIS athletic and THIS strong,Lebron,Durant,Wade,Rose,D Will,CP3,B Roy,Josh Smith,Duncan, KG,Tyreke Evans,Danny Granger, the league is flooded with talent not the case during Mike's run, don't get me wrong there were some HOFamers

Oh really, when has MJ ever played on a team with another player better than him and as dominant as Shaq. Jordan was the focal point of those Bulls championship, Kobe played through Shaq plain and fucking simple. MJ is 6 for fucking 6 in the finals and never quit on his team. Fuck outta here with never played against athletic and strong (ever heard of Nique, Kemp,Drexler,Grant Hill,Penny Hardaway, Shaq), how old are you 6 fucking years old; not to mention defenses where tougher back then and players had more heart.I'm not even gonna bring up the fact Kobe played in a era with soft ass big men.

Lets look at who MJ played against and they are all on the 50 greatest players list, future HOF, or all stars at the time - Malone, Stockton,Barkley,Kevin Johnson,Ewing,Drexler,Hakeem,Mutumbo, Mourning,Magic,Bird,Parish,Mchale,Dumars,Isiah Thomas,Magic, Worthy, Jabar,Ceballos,Sprewell,Rodman,Reggie Miller,Tim Hardaway,Mitch Richmond,Payton,Kemp,Robinson,Larry Johnson,Reggie Lewis,Coleman,Webber,Glenn Rice, etc.

I know you're not comparing this none handcheck era to the era where Jordan got blocked with elbows. I don't see any two guard playing right now who is on the level of Mitch Richmond, Dumars,Miller, Drexler, etc; especially on the defensive side. I know you are not comparing Joe Johnson, Ray Allen to those dudes, because these dudes are complete players like dudes back in the days

why do ppl keep bringin up the fact that Shaq was the focal point of threepeat like its Kobe's fault?

the Lakers signed Shaq to do just that....they aint trade for Kobe to build a team around him, but to have more depth at the SG position cause i think Eddie Jones was the starter then

The Jordan comparison needs to end, MJ is the GOAT and Kobe is a great player and will be in the hall of fame for what he's done to the game of basketball.

lol so based off what i just highlighted could explain why shaq was so dominant then right?? dont use that to knock kobe its not his fault he was brought up under these conditions. point is.... most if not all of the players who play with and against kobe today say hes the best. if they didnt feel that way then im sure they wouldnt say anything at all. even if hes not clearly the best in your eyes, lets not act like his competition today wouldnt give alot of them niggas back in a day a run for their money. the best of the best in the nba say kobe is the best. what more does kobe really need to vaildate his status in the game? surely not us who are merely spectators.

Kobe may win as many rings and he may have as many points because he had a head start. But he will never have the total career Mike had.

kobe will have played more season than Jordan, of course his numbers will be better, but that doesn't make him a better player.

Jordan retired at 40 so if kobe breaks all his records by 36-37 and has 6 rings hes better
