Nah. Height has nothing to do with it. The skills where there. It was his mindset, lack of discipline, and inability to follow his coaches direction and learn to trust his teammates that did him in. Just think of how Kobe was the same way but eventually matured. Iverson never grew up as a player/ teammate.

First off, AI would not have been better by making him taller. If he were taller he would not have been as quick and would have never learned to get his shot off in the lane the way he did.

Also, as pointed out by the stats guru earlier, AI's first three years don't stack up against Rose's. But they are two different type players. AI was top 3 "shoot first" guards!

Nah son, I respectfully disagree. I think people are viewing how his career ended (Detroit and Memphis) as a microcosm of his entire career. AI was not a PG. He was a SG trapped in a PG's body. He wasn't Isiah or Nate Archibald in the sense that he was as good a passer as he was a scorer, his game was predicated on attacking defenses and scoring, and for a time, no one in the NBA was better than AI at scoring and attacking. His shooting % hovered around 42-44%, right about where Kobe shoots, the only difference is that Kobe is -8 inches taller.

Could AI have been a PG? Maybe. But that would have taken his greatest gift away. The gift of putting the ball in the hole. Chris Paul, D Williams, Rhondo, Rose, Nash, Kidd, and every other elite PG could never Average 30PPG, lea the league in scoring or drag a team of bums into the Finals like AI did. Could he have practiced harder? Yeah. Should he have stayed out of clubs a lil more? Yeah. But in the end, the results speak for themselves 26.7PPG for a career... and averaging nearly 15PPG during his tenure with Detroit, Memphis and Philly. Dude is not and never was a bum. Stern basically blackballed him from the league.
