How exactly did Simmons define better?

Kobe's gonna be HOF and you've got folk already sayin he's the best to ever play the game. Mostly stans, but they're large in number.

Just talkin about how in the terms of total numbers, Kobe has a jump on him. At the age of 31, Kobe had been playing in the league since 18. MJ had 3 years of college, missed most of his 2nd year with a broken foot and almost 2 years with his first retirement

Kobes going to be ahead of him in total points, and stuff like that because of his longevity

True or False? Bill Simmons made that point in his last article

Speak on it

Let this breathe a bit mods, if you will

Kobe's definitely gonna take over the record books. Thing is, he's been around long enough to be a major personality in the league and hasn't done it. That's the only thing Jordan has on him. He created a brand that has yet to be duplicated and probably never will.

but maybe he doesnt wanna follow in those steps because he is already compared so much to mj so much he probably wants to pave his own path and do things his own way to stay original......

He will never have a better career, he was never the best player on those Laker teams and he will not win another mvp with Lebron,Wade, and Durant in the league now. He might be able to squeak out another title and that's it, but Michael Jordan is on Babe Ruth status imo in how he essentially indentifyable with the sport. Kobe just doesn't transcend basketball like MJ did, and when MJ played you knew he was the clear cut best player in the game; you can't say that at any point in Kobes career. Shaq and Duncan was better than him, then Nash made his team better, then the 03 class came on the scene and took over.

true...mike was iconic...Kobe would never have an impact on the league like Mike, Neither would Lebron...they're marketed as the next Mike for one,...the only person whose impact was anywhere close to Mike in the last decade was A.I..if a nigga dare argue me...Allen had the whole leauge looking like him... tats, cornrows, head band, the arm sleeve, baggy shorts..he had the whole hood rocking Reeboks...lil niggaz like my self worshiped A.I.,we were on the court tryin to play like A.i., breaking niggaz down, cuttin' thru the lane and go up 4 the finger roll,smh...the good old days... the only thing he was missin was a ring..even so he would of never been as huge as Mike, cause he didn't have the clean cut image... but still he wasn't suppose to have been the face of the league 2 begin with...

stats wise yes, overall body of work no

cumalative stats probably but not per game stats, Kobe will attain more numbers for the fact he came out at 18 and played more games. Lebron will smash his number though.

kobe will have played more season than Jordan, of course his numbers will be better, but that doesn't make him a better player.

i like when they ask phil who's better and he throws subliminals. phil jackson quote: "kobe makes tougher shots, michael got to where he wanted to shoot from" translation: kobe can't fuck with mike
