Some classic Cudi mixed in with some of the newer Cudi done much better. Loving this album so far

Releaser, All In, Distant Fantasies & Kitchen are the only songs I don't like

So question, where does this rank to yall in albums released in 2016?

We got so much dope shit in the last two months I'm not even sure how to rank these albums. I will give the likely unpopular opinion that I put this album over Cole's new joint (which I loved).

Soulo's joint is fire. Don't me wrong. I kinda put him on the backburner since so much has came out in the past two weeks. I have a few very minor issues with all these projects sans Tribe's.

Tribe is damn near perfect to me.

Cole's became extemely dope when you figured out the narrative, so for most it was on second listen after hearing the last song the first time.

Cudder's only real miss is Releaser on this album. God, I can't stress enough how trash that song is. And it's him, not the beat. Otherwise this album is fire. His catalog is 5 for 7 with me at this point. MOTM 1 & 2, Indicud & PPDS in no particular order at this point. And I liked WZRD. Them other two joints were trash to me so that kinda enhances a lot of the fans' love for this new LP.

Soulo was spitting his ass off, but the album was really disjointed to me. He still has yet to top Control System. Also, I'm kinda stuck at the subject matter on the album but that's another discussion for another day...

Tip's expansion of Us or Else had tracks that drug down the overall project IMO. The original EP was damn near perfect to me outside of one song (said song wasn't even that bad, just not great), he originally didn't have any room for error, but when you add 9 more tracks... Problems are sure to arise. The sequencing is probably my biggest issue with this project...

Haven't listened to Gucci's new shyt, but I've been seeing the age old comparison arise in threads about his album (Gucci v Jeezy - naturally I rock with Jeezy over anything Gucci in debates and TD3 was fuckin fire so...).

This my first time listening to a Cudi album since Wizard. I didn't really like none of his first 3 albums all like that. There were some cool records but just not for me. I decided to give him another shake just off the strength of the influence he had over some of the artists I fuck with like Travis Scott and ASAP Ferg.

Man this album is so dope. I can do without Act 3 thats really where the album slows down (I do fuck with Kitchen tho shout outs to the weirdo Jaden on there) and of course "Releaser" got damn that song so wack

Act 3 is interesting for me. I love Dance 4 Eternity & Mature Nature, but don't like Distant Fantasies or Kitchen at all. Wounds is cool, good but not great

I fuckin love that that stretch from ILLusions to Flight at First Sight/Advance. Shyt stays on repeat. Rose Golden being my fave but Advance is muthafuckin INSANE! Pharrell came back with the classic Neptunes sound.

Easily the best Act on the whole album. That stretch is quite possibly some of his best work.

This pretty much is MOTM3...

This nigga pulled a Dre "Detox is really Compton" on us

Dont disrespect Dre like that.

Negro plz

Detox Compton wasnt all that. Call it as I hear it. Thats why it virtually came and went.

It came and went cause u look for projects from the likes of Kid Cudi
. All good do u

This is an idiotic logic that makes no sense.

I love Chronic and 2001.

Detox Compton

came and went because it was industry manufactured product.

He got the Beats/Apple deal

He cranked out an album in return

Passed it as an album for a movie

Shit was borderline lifeless and sounded like this was chore for Dre.

He rapped like he was Kendrick

Majority of the features including Snoop & Game rapped like they were Kendrick

There was no real standout tracks it felt like a glorified mixtape with solid engineer work.

You sound like an avid super supporter of Compton so I know where the foundation of such outlandish comment stems from.

Rage and The Machine > Compton

We Got It From Here > Compton

Awaken My Love > Compton

Black America > Compton

1992 > Compton

Us or Else > Compton (YOUR BOY right there)

FHD > Compton

T&Y > Compton

As you can see my range goes, dont be mad nigga.

I agree with this fully. This nigga knows what he is talking about.

The first 3K feature got a nigga wanting to roll up some Maui Waui and start a conga line

Word I love kid Cudi and 3k . Great collab by them two. This song has alot of filler on first listen but the production is inspiration and very creative.

Btw Jayden Smith should have been on this album

Bruh that Act is Godly. In all honesty I think this has surpassed MOTM 1 & 2 as my favorite Cudi album. This shyt is damn near AOTY to me, but ATCQ got that. @Qiv_Owan basically put me on Willow (I downloaded her album last night. It's nice, but I really gotta sit and digest it). Bruh everytime I hear "oooooh yea" in RG's 2nd verse I fuckin lose it.

2016 has been absolutely trash all around, but the third quarter of hip hop releases has been great.

Oh and Releaser is still fucking baby diarrhea >_> but you cannot deny Cudi is in most of these new niggas' DNA.
