Lupe brought a little of everything as he took a couple shots at Kendrick but he also was just flexing lyrically too.

He blended those two concepts well.

Cassidy spitting and managed to respond to Kendrick and spit something while still giving him a shout out. That's for ya'll saying it ain't possible

Ok Lupe has the best response to me so far, just a tad bit over Joell. Both are legit. Lupe finally droppin the heat he is capable of. I love it

just finished listening to the Cassidy version...

so far, he is in the lead for response tracks

Too much filler. This is right up his alley though as a battle rapper. I got him in 4th place so far behind Ortiz/Lupe/Mickey.

Hopefully Budden shakes this up some.

I wonder if Crooked I or Royce will chime in also....

its for everybody...so yea i expect the ones who DID get mentioned to respond too...Not you Tyler, Mac miller Big Sean, Meek and Asap tho yall can keep your bars

I know most wont pay attention or understand why I posted this.

but if you listen, it'll all make sense, trust..

Interesting moments in hip hop are so few and far between nowadays with lukewarm lyrics barely heating up, it's great to feel the competition running through the culture right now, even if it doesn't last - I forgot the feeling.

To me, Kendrick sparked a war due to his masterful play that's well documented by 9th and more so Young Guru, yet knows he has plenty in the tank to respond to any worthy contenders (I really liked Ortiz, Lupe and Los' responses (B.o.B not bad either)). The problem with this is that anyone who brings it and calls him out as though it's a dissing contest is missing the point, especially if they bring it in an emotionally charged way, as that wasn't Kendrick's point, although it's true the people who aren't mentioned will get mad - so show us what you got on a record, rather than bringing it emotionally, as that already shows us that Kendrick's made you mad. This paragraph surmises how confusing the situation is to handle though, especially for the unmentioned - as Joe Budden's video shows, which is the biggest cop out yet - his recognition through a discussion that 'Kendrick doesn't mean me... I'm not a new cat.' yet Ortiz dropped a response first and he's part of your group, but you're only just getting it now...' Yeah, ok...

Lupe talking about Kendrick being two is silly (Kendrick has Section.80 and GKMC, two of the greatest releases in recent years, along with his other EPs; he's also been co-signed by the West's greats, so Lupe is way off on that point) and people thinking his use of 'fuck' four too many times is dope are definitely listening with a different ear to my own - I can mess up a sentence and make it less coherent for people to decipher and for people to be like, 'Oh shit!' (If you're that way inclined) but to be honest, I'd rather be coherent - which is why 'You Canada Dry.' had so much weight to it by Common. That is unless my first listen went by me because "I'm so dumb" - as people often state with regards to Lupe (who I like very much as a result of F&L, but less so in recent years and if people don't understand your shit, then maybe you need to look at yourself, 'cos people have no problem understanding Pharaohe Monch and all the other talented peeps out there). Just saying, like I said, I'm a huge fan of lyricists, but if you aren't coherent or off key a lot, then that's an issue with your skill set, IMO.

Gets you hyped though and would be great to see who else comes out with a response. Definitely switch up the beat now though. Also, Elec's verse was brilliant too, just because he didn't call out hip hop, does not mean that we should forget, or even consider it as the best competing verse in comparison to Lamar's.
