i understand niggas not liking kendrick songs but some of u niggas are just ridiculous, older hip hop listeners never wanna show young cats any respect

If K. Dot was born in 71' they'd love em.

It's not an "Old Head " thing. I just don't like the guy. Shit, I love young acts like Pro Era, ASAP, Odd Future,Flatbush,Chance and Drake

Nigga I'm 16. Fuck I look like hating on young Niggas and being elitist?

yall are too hypnotised by the hook listen to the lyrics ... the song is about peer pressue and amatuer drinkers .... and he even compares real drinkers and doesnt glorify them which is why he stayed sober until he tried to fit in to reach fame ....

Some people wanna fit in with the popular

That was my problem

like i said the kid adds color ... its def not straight forward but its a real as song because thats how most people become alcoholics ... nothing that is real is going to be straight forward it has to have layers and twist and turns ... thats life ....

he wasnt on no i get drunk i get high all day type of ish ..

thats bullshit.... its a drinking song man. it sounds good. but it aint talking about shit and its a harmful message. theres no way you can spin that. besides other niggas nothing kills more niggas than alcohol and thats obviously before the point of passing out or throwing up.. thats the reality ive been around... niggas in they 30s with gout and serious liver problems. thats exactly what i mean by shallow... the time/warner/umg/seagrams corporate cluster fuck going on demands that an anti-alcoholism song would be a conflict of interest. you dudes really think that when youre on that level you can just vibe out in the studio and just make what youre feeling lol? no...only to a certain extent. that was part of a marketing strategy. come out with a song people can drink to and then a song people can cake to...

Now, I hate gay dot K dot with a passion, but come on. It's not a drinking song. It was about how pressured he was to drink, and about the alcoholic background he had experienced, and you were talking about what a bad influence he was... Didnt you say you liked Pro Era?

Y'all went to high school, I Went to school high x4

The whole song "School High" Is actively promoting Marijuana use of underaged teens, hence the school references.(Idgaf about it, it's a song about weed. Weed isn't bad to me but I'm trying to prove a point here) Shit, you were talking about being underaged, May I remind you that Joey is 18 and Kendrick is 26. So if anything, PE is more ignorant than Kendrick for this song. Like I said, it doesn't matter. I love "School High" and "Swimming Pools"(one of the only KL songs I like) So who cares.

I think marijuana is not as harmful as alcohol.. at any event I keep fucking repeating I listen to some of Kendricks shit...and whoevers shit. I dont like the niggas character though and I distrust anything coming from Interscope. Thats one thing I hate about this fucking site- you either gotta be a stan or a hater. All my explanantion of what I got out of the song is ME.. what I heard. A nigga hear something different then so be it. We dont have to agree. My thing is barely anybody just pole-jocking dude has anything of substance to say as to WHY.

JB shit just reeks of wisdom though.. it just resonates with me more. I dont like all his shit either though cause sometimes he tries to hard with the whole throwback motif.

Im cynical about most the game.

If Im critical of an artist but I say I like certain songs then it just is what it is. That means I'm downloading it/ If I like the music and feel the message in it then I'll buy it. I just been explaining where Im coming from.

Like I said though.. "Swimming Pools" does not take an anti-drinking position..and from a dude who drank from age 11 to 27 I can tell you that once you are drunk there is no goddamn difference lol. Its still poison. And dude references getting fucked up on other songs that are not in the "GKMC" storyline/perspective

But thats what music is.. choose your own adventure. Niggas on here are not thinkers though. If you like the shit so much then explain to me WHY. Dialogue. Dont just call me a hater or no shit like that cause Im just going to keep stating my fucking point in detail.

Bottom line though...dude is overrated. He needs more time. How hes getting rushed through the hype machine is going to be detrimental to his artistic development in the long run. This time next year the same stans gonna be talking about how he fell the fuck off

Wtf are you talking about there was no spin to the record the record was about peer pressure into drinking. he clearly stated that plenty of interviews... obviously you didn't do a great listen to the song or the album because your statement is far from true ain't no damn marketing strategy. the kid is nice, there is message in everyone of his songs from that album. niggas always want to knock a niggas, if you dont like the song cool your entitled to have your opinion but stop trying to force your beliefs on people because half the shit you say is pure bullshit. crabs in the barrel mentality ass niggas. the control verse was not a diss either it was him telling his friends let's step it up because honestly a lot of niggas been getting away with a lot of bullshit passing it off as being hot.

its always them fake ass revolutionary hiphop niggas that think something is conspiracy or a marketing scheme when a nigga that they don't like is winning, miss me with the bullshit.

But that's the thing though.. I was a fan of Kendrick until he did that bitchass control shit and then tried to play it off. I can admit that some of his shit is dope , but people either want you to be like "Omg Kendrick best rapper alive new 2pac omg" or "Kendrick is wack lol he has no rhymes. " I don't like his personality. That's it. I like his music, but his bitchmade tendencies spoil him for me. You are kinda hating but if you wanna hate the dude, fine. At least you give reasons beyond "This nigga suck". Like so many others.

And Weed isn't as bad as drinking, but if PE and Joey were famous on Kendrick level, best believe that School High would be more controversial (not that controversial though; what rap song doesn't bring up weed?) Than swimming pools because conservative white folks is stupid and believe weed is the devil. Smh

Besides. Kendrick is 27. That ain't young. Shit, drake 26.

No, K-Dot is 26.

Hes still ten years older than me. That ain't young.

Are you an idiot?

Because I say that being a 26 year old rapper doesn't make you young? Shut the fuck up. Was Lil Wayne considered young in 08? When he was 26 and had K dots popularity ? No? Thought so.
