"Can you guarantee that your daughter can get a job at this radio station??? But if you own this radio station then you could guarantee that"

-Kanye West-

"Don't be good my nigga be great!!"

-Jay Z-

The whole moral of the story is black ppl need to dream bigger then a Benz a chain and some bands and if it all went over yo head that's not a kanye thing that's a you thing. Cthagod wasn't getting it cuz he was just tryna box ye in as a rapper and producer and all he cares about is his music and what ye was basically tryna get out is you can't box me in cuz I'm tryna be bigger then that becuz one day your not gonna care about my music when I'm 50+ and then what???

Kanye can make his own way. Real talk.

With the access of a billion+ dollars consumers (black people) and an abundance of natural resources in the USA and the many countries I Africa to create beautiful and exclusive fabrications.

Kanye can definitely create his own lane without the racist fascist assholes in the fashion industry.

He can start cutting his own checks.

At the end of the day, ranting without a purpose for all to gain and understand; is a message lost on deaf ears.

I have a better understanding of what Kanye is talking about now, but he needs to calm down. Nobody will work with him in the fashion industry if he keeps acting like an asshole. I understand the struggle but he seems too many conflicts within himself to move forward right now.

I felt like Ye was dodging the questions during the first half of the interview, but he was droppin mad gems in the 2nd half. In the 2nd half of the interview he pretty much explained there's a method to his madness. I already knew that he was about done with making music ,cuz on the documentary (art of 16) he said , in 10 years he doesnt plan on continuing to make music.

Right now his focus is on taking over the fashion world. Its kind of the same approach he did when he was crying about winning a grammy, and almost forced them to give it to him and now he has more than any other rapper ever. He's trying to do the same shit in fashion. I dont agree with all the antics he's been pullin , but now I understand.

Documentary quote i was talkin about

Kanye drops some gems especially about black ownership BUT he's Cory Booker to me, too self serving fake posturing. He wants access so HE can be there - Is he kicking in the door so others can get through?

Imam say this twice in both threads. I ain't read all ya comments and even tho I've been calling Kanye, "Koonye', since the confederate flag thing.. i understand exactly where he's coming from.

Everyone can tell you what to do but NOT HOW TO DO IT. he doesn't know how to go form point a to point b and is trying to do it now but doesn't have anyone that can help him jumpstart his own interest in business without making him a pawn and making him waste his time and his own money not getting the results he wants. He has a general idea, but the execution is the hardest thing and he needs help without being a puppet at the same time.

It took me listening to Kanye be fully frustrated in the Sway interview to understand where this guy is coming from.

kanye is a millionaire and hes being a bitch, be happy with what you have and stfu, make some good music and stop with this faggot clothing shit.

This is the exact bullshit that white people tell black people who aspire to be greater than them. Is it any wonder why black people are still being dominated in every facet of political and financial/economic spheres when oppression is clearly on autopilot? I bet you would have made an exemplary house slave.

I understand Ye but he is overstepping. He wants to be bigger than RL without putting in the time. I understand striking while the iron is hot but after he isn't popular who is going to check for his clothing. I love his aspiration but he is working against himself.

Of course he can't immediately be bigger than RL...in the short term. I'm sure he knows that. He's talking about building to that point. But he needs a certain level of access to avoid eventually hitting the glass ceiling.

That is why he is going to great lengths to approach this differently than other rappers and famous black people have in the past. It won't be about his name b/c he'll hopefully have high quality product that speaks for itself and access to or maybe eventually control of distribution channels. O don't see the point in using that argument to doubt him. Especially with the level of passion he has apparently approached this with. Wait and see.

He said he been put in his 10,000 hours a long time ago though. And if he developed a successful brand during his career I'm sure it just wouldn't die because he stops making music, as much as Kanye likes to create I don't see him falling off the radar anytime soon he'll always be on the scene somewhere, author, director etc.

Do we know this though? I believe if he is able to break thru and realize his dreams the door will be open to others.

The same way he created DONDA and GOOD Music I feel he will do the same with this.

Like he said if you don't give people a chance you basically sonning them.

He can't help everybody but if those people he does end up bringing reach back and lend a hand to people they know and so on and so forth then we could see a difference.

You can't help others if you don't our yourself in the position first

You have to build a monopoly and he is using his fame as a shortcut. I have no real problem with that but it will only take you so far. The sneakers was ok but if Spalding mad them no one would care. They sold because of his name and niggas will buy anything with Nike on it. I just suggest stop ranting put out some nice designs and let your work speak. Dudes don't start for the Yankees. Even Jordan went to the minors.

Nike has Jordan and other brands but Adidas has cut out a high end niche with their Y3 line. They on Gucci level with them shits. I think he will do good going with them. Kanye trying to own teams not play a position. Jordan is mentioned because of what he did outside of basketball with his kicks which is as grand as his efforts on the court.

Why are you equating freedom to money? Money is not what makes us free in this World." - Charlamagne the God.

He sonned Kanye West pretty bad

No he didn't. Economic independence is a form of freedom, it's the closest thing to freedom that blacks can actually achieve these days. C the god showed exactly how small his mind was when he asked that question. We should be pushing all black people to try and become billionaires

Got damn, co-sign. Just shut the fucking thread down. Listen if you don't believe this you're dumb as hell, I can't really say it any other way.

This interview make me want to even go more hard nh on my peers. Imma try to set yo alarm to wake you up but if you keep hitting the snooze button then imma let you sleep

Co-sign, not even 10 black billionaires? Yo, fuck that shit. Word to G Rap, we need to get this paper. It's deeper than money and if you can't see that then whatever, but there's levels to this shit and that's what Ye was trying to express here
