2nd niggas do fall off
3rd how many other genres have artists signing to other artists and stopping them from putting out music
4th what other genre has the artists and labels devalued the music
Jimi Hendrix and Eminem are not a good comparsion . Blacks created Rock music and Jimi Hendrix changed the
game at the time with his style of play. What has Eminem done to change the game? On another note some
Rock fans shit on artists they don't like ,say the current state of the music suck and only listen to old shit. Once a
rock band switch or go commercial they don't fuck with them no more (ie Fall Out Boy). Paramore and King of
Leon get shitted on all the time. So what is we talking about really.

The African American community in general (which happens to be the majority of the hip hop fanbase) has an HUGE issue with respect of Elders and deference. We have become the culture of cynics... It became really cool to discredit someone no matter who they are. So its a root issue that affects that particular music genre... but lets not get it twisted its an "issue deeper than Rap"

Besides Rock fans, Rap fans are the worst fans of any genre bar none, and the primary reason rap's audience is wack is because the audience is ignorant of history. Talk shop with the most vocal dumb-ass Rock music fan, and they can at least argue a point with 20, 30, and even 40 years worth of awareness about the genre. In the 21 years since I've been an active rap music fan, I have only encountered a handful of people offline with knowledge or awareness of the genre beyond what's on MTV/BET. Furthermore, most rap fans aren't "fans" beyond a hot beat. Everything but the most basic of wordplay goes over their heads. Metaphor is wack-ass Rock group or some "White shit." And if it ain't grippin' the pound, squirtin' the tool, dickin' her down, and ridin' round, most can't even focus on more than four sentences at one time before being "bored."
Look up a rap song's lyrics. Most of the "fans" who transcribe them don't even understand basic concepts of writing like metaphors, so they bastardize the lyrics with the "rhymes" and never ask, "Hmm, why would SNOOP DOGGY DOGG say, 'You a fee. And I'ma big dog. I'll scrap you off my pog with my muthafuckin' hogs' as opposed to 'You's a flea. And I'm the big dog. I'll scratch you off my balls with my muthafuckin' paws' like a, you know, DOG? LIKE THE WORD IN HIS NAME?" Hell, besides Rapgenius.com, the darkest dungeons of the Reason, and Sohh, I don't see any real intelligence in the fan base and the real intelligence that is there is snuffed by ageism and/or racism because God forbid a well-read 13-year-old knows more Rap history than a 30-year-old dude who listened to local radio and went to a Run-DMC Reunion concert or a White suburban kid buried himself in the underground and bought anything with the word rap on it. No. We're Black. We're Hip-Hop by D.N.Aw shut that bullshit up.
Glad to see Budden is finally paying attention to the media training Def Jam invested in him, though, and he didn't call a spade a spade and note the fanbase is (at least loudest vocally) represented by fucking retarded mouthbreathers.

With social media dominating our every day lives and history transforming into something that happened 15 minutes ago, fans are more interested and involved into your every day lives. Granted the record companies and outside influences have had a big part in forming this music genre, the responsibility should be put on the rap fans shoulders for letting it get to this point. Most people point to Jay- Z or Diddy as a point of reference for how far Hip Hop has come but to me the whole point of Hip Hop was not to show how rich black or minorities in general could become but it was more about transforming the reality of the world and showcasing the horrible reality of the roles minorities played in this economic system called capitalism. I think the real question Hip Hop should ask is how much better has the quality of life become for minorities or urban kids and adults since the creation of Hip Hop, and how much has this genre contributed to this change. Anyone can get lucky when playing within rules of capitalism but thats the minority and the rest are left with just a dream and the reality that hits them everyday.

He made those statements and then probably went and made a song in the studio later than night. You rap, you know the business, you obviously understand how this particular part of the industry is. All he did by saying all of that was alienate himself from a part of his fan base. It's sad but it's true ...
kingofdetroit;2240996 said:In 15 years, the teens who grew up in the Soulja Boy era are gonna tell their kids that Soulja Boy was real rap...Enough said, Hip Hop fans are DUMB and FICKLE compared to all other genres.
Soho Fresco;2234395 said:Exactly man....fans of Hip Hop make us as a whole sound ignorant.
Jim Jones saying Jay is a ol head yet he is over 30...
You don't hear fans of rock dissing Ozzy Osbourne or fans of Latin music dissing Marc Anthony, they embrace them for the good music they were able to give them for a consistent number of years.
I'm THAT guy...;2241708 said:he should just worry about the fanbase he has now it's obvious he isn't gaining any new ones
ghost!;2241868 said:and you know that how??? U do realize he's eatting off of doing tours and ghost writting right..cuz he's not always in front the screen or on your top ten radio station doesn't mean joe budden is not doing fine...
u watching him..u know who he is...does he know you? Not a diss..but think about that statement.
