GRODT was not 50's first album

and of course jeezy wasnt tryna be lyrical...he wouldnt try to do somethin he know he cant do

jus like that dumb shit he said "yall say i cant rap.........................oh you still waiting" or whatever the fuck he said.

jus dumb

classic is an album that should be put in the hip hop vault and when we open the vault 35 years from now we will be proud.

TM 101 is not that

it is a BANGER,a regional smash, real nigga music, real dope boy music,,,,,,banger

but a classic,

dont disrespect Paid in Full,Return of the Boom Bap, He's the DJ Im The Rapper,Enter the 36 Chambers and many more by puttin that piece of trunk music in the same class as them

Yeah but that isn't right ...trunk music is in the heart of many people from the South. This is coming from a New Yorker that learned it isn't good to shit on what you don't understand and when you finally do understand, embrace the fact that you learned something new.

Many people would say T.i.'s Trap Muzik is a southern classic ...that Cd is far from lyrical

Prodigy isn't super lyrical either yet some dudes have Mobb Deep in their top ____ list based off of albums they feel are classic.

So everyone has a different definition of classic. Your definition isn't bad because at least you're providing valid points...I just don't agree with it.

mannnn,you are totally right

i learned this from a Source interview ghostface did

he said & i paraphrase "i may not like it. but thats your hip hop. i cant say its wack. cuz thats your hip hop"

this was around the time he had the "laffy taffy" controversy and he was clearing that up.

so what you may call wack, really is indeed a classic to someone else.
thats the flexibility of hip hop...... and thats also a downfall that also loops into this thread topic

we can slap the classic label on damn near anything.
and when you can give the highest honor to anything,it brings down the prestige of the highest honor.

Yeah man, the reason why I respect your opinion is because you brought up albums that indeed deserve that "Classic" label attached to it.

Now if your were to tell me "So Far Gone" is a classic"..we probably would have been arguing lol

1st off Joe Budden is protecting his boss

2nd niggas do fall off

Jimi Hendrix and Eminem are not a good comparsion . Blacks created Rock music and Jimi Hendrix changed the

game at the time with his style of play.
What has Eminem done to change the game? On another note some

Rock fans shit on artists they don't like ,say the current state of the music suck and only listen to old shit. Once a

rock band switch or go commercial they don't fuck with them no more (ie Fall Out Boy). Paramore and King of

Leon get shitted on all the time.
So what is we talking about really.

The bold is true.

Another thing is that Hip Hop fans are real hypocrital at times.
Example: A Jay-z fan from the East coast still gotta give Young Jeezy props for his first album because it is a classic..or damn near one in my eyes.
But nah, you have fans here in New York that know they were loving Jeezy's first album but be saying the "South is wack"
The same dudes that had "And Then What" bumpin hard in the whip.

Here we go with the Jeezy classic argument. I do agree with Budden about fans not really showing respect for past artists. It's like each rapper is a tissue, they get used and dumped. I do think Jay Z is a role model for the future artist along with Drake, Kanye West, and Eminem. They're on their grown man shit.

This is true. If I didn't love hip-hop so much I wouldn't even attempt to spit. Real talk I might've picked up the guitar(which I plan on learning later in life)

Lol, people say "rock" groups fall off all the time though.
Shit indie fans are fickle as shit, once they get a hint of one of their favorite bands getting a little more known then they would like the fans turn against them.
Every music genre has fans that call bands "sell outs", or that they fell off.
Go visit absolutepunk.net or sites of that nature, niggas hate up there just like people hate on here.

It just boils down to the fact that the average person listens to bad music, IMO.
And doesn't feel like getting educated on the genres of music that they listen to.

I think its a simple solution. If we as so called hip hop fans wouldve showed and raised the younger kids on what real hip hop is/was they would demand it, But the 80's babies gotta lead the way. I let my kids listen hip hop and decide themselves, it sjust a matter of, is there gonna be an avenue for the younger kids to listen to a Slick rick, an LL cool J going towards the future. And alot of the older cats arent touring, they are trying to do other shit OTHER Than rap. But some of the quality has fallen fell off so bad, we were ALL dying to hear new shit, but forgot to reinforce what was solid in the past.

Jay-z, Nas, the WU will be exceptions and will always be able to tour. Would niggas really go to an LL concert? Or is LL so done with music that he wouldnt bother?

What we need to talk about is why black folks always think that the grass is greener on the other side. You niggas are real dumb if you don't think the same
shit some of you brought up don't happen alot in Rock.

But still yeah i agree i've always said that hip-hop fans are the dumbest fans of any genre but that would take a whole day to explain and give example.

And to t/s who talked about hypocrites, nigga let's be honest all these niggas in here posting are hypocrites cuz they be doin' the same fuckin' thing they complainin' about. Ol' bitch ass niggas.

True, fans in other genres turn on artists for being "irrelevant" too

Pop fans are actually worse than hiphop fans when it comes to that.

Pop fans are all about "right now"

I think this is true for all walks of life. People are afraid to be themselves in fear of being odd, different or being an outcast. They'd rather jump on a trend to fit in than just be them.

I agree with this post.

As fans, another thing I see happening is people feeling that you have to dislike one in order to respect the other for example. Rarely does LL come up in GOAT discussions largely due to him not being as lyrical as some of his contemporaries. Some even discredit him for taking a more commercial route in making songs targeted toward females. It's like his early music doesn't exist, but people will bring up his newer material to discredit him. On the other hand, Rakim and Big Daddy Kane are mentioned amongst the greats even though their newer material isn't so great either. All three deserve credit for what they did respectively. All three of them are greats as they pioneered the styles of today's rappers.

Budden: Oh my fucking god..are you fucking kiddin me?..are you retarded? How old are you?

Girl: 24…

Budden: Okay…30 years from now, who will be the Prince/Maddonna/Micheal Jackson of Rap?

Girl: Um…Jay-Z and Kanye.

Budden: ........ dude stupid for talking to that dime like that lol

Heres I feel, not one Rock fan on this planet Earth will tell you that Jimi Hendrix is overrated, and became internationally famous because he was black.

A Hip-Hop fan will tell you that Eminem is overrated, and became internationally famous because he's white, it's unfuckingreal at times.

side note: Budden had some good points but he do sound like a bitter know it all in this video.

How do you people feel about this everybody?..do ya'll feel like Hip Hop has the worse fans out of all genres?...post away

the nigga is right, hip-hop/ rap fans are fickle ass fuck

First they love , then they hate you, then they love you again

Joe Buddens mad at the fans cuz he doesn't sell no records.

Every genre has stupid fans. Every genre has a handful of acts that are trash that made it big. Every genre has a handful of acts that are dope that never made it big. Don't hate the fans cuz you don't sell. Make a hit.
