well bruh, I'm a nigga

and a hood-esque nigga at that LOL

they ain't trying to let me up in Goldman Sachs bruh.................so all I can do is cultivate business and manage as many assets as I can to pad my resume.................hopefully I'll get that consistent payday vs getting bread in chunks, that shit is stressful in this economy

then I'll retire at age 40 and get a job at my old high school or something LOL

As a minority, it's not too difficult to get in at JP Morgan, GS, MS, BOA...

I dont know how old you are or your college year but, as a freshman you'd need a 3.6+, a notable school and preferably a Finance major...

Most kids apply too late. To get an IB spot at a top bank for the summer you need to be prepping the previous summer...

I applied to JP Morgan for a Summer Analyst position in January. Way too late. SMH at doing that.

I did get picked for the Launching Leaders program. A contact assigned to me said I would've had a good chance at an analyst spot had I not applied so late.

there's a website called internships.com? damn where was i when this hit the net? gotta check that out post-haste.

and thanks on the wellwishes again. one of the things i was gonna start was a clothing apparel business since i'm an artist, i've been wanting to design clothes for awhile (t-shirts and jackets and such) so i've been doing my research and buying the equipment i need, i just need a few more supplies and some clientele and i'll be str8er than 6 o'clock.

Like I said about feed readers, you can subscribe to Art Design/Graphic Design, fashion articles and get inspired! Some even go step by step at launching your own clothing brand!

what's wrong with being your own boss and calling your own shots? it's less stressful and you can only blame yourself if you make mistakes instead of getting bitched out for something you probably didn't do, plus you create your own hrs. i'd much rather make create my own destiny instead of allowing someone else to dictate that for me.

No disrespect to anyone with that degree.....but come on....what kind of BS is that??

Maybe if these people would stop getting BS degrees and actually go in a field thats viable.....they wouldn't be complaining about getting a job so slowly....public policy lol

In my business school I see accounting and finance guys get jobs without a problem

Down the road in the engineering school I don't see people having a problem

I don't see people in the medical field having this problem

Im not saying people will line up from miles away to hire you with these degrees....but you can damn sure get a decent job.

But oh no....I want to graduate in "public policy, or literature, or history or some BS

More power to you but ALOT of networking than usual is in your future.

it got nothing to do with what ur degree is in the economy is broken there arnt jobs out there for everyone that wants to work

nah fam I have to disagree

too many mofos out here avoiding doing the necessary math curriculum to survive in the corporate world, yet they are surprised when they find themselves busing tables with a masters degree. business owner ain't checking for niggaz with a degree in humanities, we need to stop lying to these kids real talk

and the student loan game makes it even worse, youd be better off not even getting a degree in some instances

if you got a degree in History, you can't be surprised that JP Morgan ain't checking for you................better hope Waffle House is still looking for night managers :shrugs

Lol see, I cannot stand people who bash others who were blessed enough to get jobs in Corporate America. Granted, you are working under someone else's rules, but how many times have we seen people leave corporations start their own businesses and become successful? Matter of fact, people sometimes leave firms and the firms SHOW SUPPORT TO THEIR VENTURE. For instance, a guy left Goldman Sachs to start a restaurant, guess who's employees visit there frequently? I work in corporate America myself and I don't understand people who just say eff corporate America. Lastly, LMAO at the idiot who said if you own your own business you work less hard. Dude, it doesn't matter if you own a bodega or a internet company, you are going to have MANY sleepless nights and work 10 times harder than investment bankers, you know why? ALL the risk falls on you. YOU have to get capital for your business. If you fuck up, your business is finished. In most instances, in corporate America, if you fuck up....you get fired. The firm stays in business however.

man if you were talking about me i never said you don't work as hard, i said it was LESS stressful which now that i think about it is untrue. it would be stressful trying to find clientele and supporting yourself through your business but i'm not a fool, i know it takes alot of hard work and dedication. i'm just saying for me it would be better to work for myself and depend on myself and know that if a mistake was made that i was at fault and learn from it. i've worked in too many jobs where i got blamed for shit i didn't do or if i did fuck up i got bitched out while someone else who slacks off harder than me gets a free ride and less harsh treatment. at least i'll be working at my own pace if i'm my own boss/employee, i know that i can put in the work and effort from my past endeavors working jobs so i'm not worried about that. you work for corporate amerikkka wearing a monkey suit and you're happy with that, fine, i'm just saying that's not me nor will it ever be. some people are made to work in that environment, i'm just not one of them.
