It's just because we don't have much material from him. Cole signed in 09, so it took him 2 years to drop. but we had a mixtape from him in 09 and another in 10 before he dropped his album in 11. plus he had features with wale, on jay's album etc. as well. the same can be said for krit. he was signed in 10 but he's dropped a mixtape every year, and has had features as well. I mean shit, even Pac has dropped more material in the last half decade than Elec has, and he's dead!

Jay Elect is already an established underground artist in several major cities, because he lived in a lot of places and was very prominent in their underground scenes. Dude packs underground events.

Jay Elect was already making major waves on his own.Act 1 blew up off his myspace, which means he already had a great core fanbase.

that was six years ago. and lupe had that touch the sky joint as exposure off a popular Kanye album to build a buzz. hardly the same.

These two statements/strategies contradict themselves.

If you're trying to do things mysterious/unorthodox, why are you then waiting on a single to drop/trying to force a single? You can either play it the traditional route and just release more music and build a buzz and push a single, or you can do it a more unorthodox way and say fuck a single.

For the record, I don't mind a bit of a wait, but I don't want to hear shit like we're waiting because he needs to come up with a single.

for as long as people who are fans have waited....I hope it's worth it....I don't mind him having a mystique to the album....He's going to be labeled the biggest hiphop con-artist ever if his album doesnt live up to the hype from a couple years go though. People have short enough attention spans as it is.....waiting on a nigga who hasn't really made an impact since 09 isn't an easy thing to do. No Mixtapes, and only a handful of songs released since 09?
