Who Dat and All I want is You both charted

J.Cole's album releases 9/27(if his album debuts higher than #5 Cole wins that category)

J.Cole went on tour with Jay Z and is currently on tour with Rihanna

J. Cole has videos dropping(not on the daily)

Cole has a same team of artists to vibe with and record with

J.Cole was pretty much the front-runner of his XXL freshman class, also had a little spot about his development as soon as he got signed with RN, has been on 106&park and actually gotten to perform at two awards shows

Cole performed at Summer Jam last year

Cole has access to those same production and video production teams as well

Cole also has access to the hottest rappers in the game(Jay, Kanye, Drake, Ross)

I understand you just did that to show me what ross is doing, but can someone please tell me what's really the difference?

The difference is simple, the MMG artists are hot with a buzz and J.Cole is not buzzing at all.

J.Cole is not on the radio, he's not in the strip -joints, he aint bumpin in the cars and he dosent have a new mix tape or album to feed his fans.

He is not on the charts like Wale he dosent have a Vid like Pill, and he dosent have a hot street-single like Meek Mill.

His mix tape isn't as acclaimed as Stalley's and his album isn't as hyped as Big Seans....the poor kids heaviest buzz was a mediocre single and a song with Wale.

MMG artists are everywhere and J.Cole is in the Witness Protection Program.

Well I think he sounded awkward because of the subject matter on that track. I'm not given up on him yet I Just think he needs some direction. I hated Wale before he started fucking with Ross.

Wale isn't any different than before he signed with MMG...his topic matter, beats, flow, everything still sounds the same...the nigga has always been nice....hell I still listen to Back 2 The Feature and More About Nothing on a regular basis...some of his best material on those 2 mixtapes

Very good point; Ross seriously seems to know exactly what the hell he's doing.. And knowing your shit might be a given for anyone aiming to be a boss but every move this dude makes seems to be the right one.. At least right now.. It's not by chance that he still is very popular.

you gotta remember that Rick Ross was on Slip N Slide as a ghost writer for a while before he came out so he got to see the business side of the industry for a while before he came out with his own shit...he got to watch and learn

That's just another stupid thing niggas on the internet say...

Anybody who say Lupe don't got a fanbase or don't got connections is ignorant as fuck. In the time it took to put his album out though, his name wasn't buzzin, so he "fell off". Right now though, Atlantic is actually pushin his project, whatever people wanna say about the music is a different story...

bigger artist than wale?
in your opinion
but your opinion is wrong as fuck
niggas is droppin albums out here, b
niggas got videos and singles on the charts
niggas is known
no hands>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>j.cole's career
and that's not even wale's song but it reached people who didn't know who he was
and wasn't checkin for him at all
j.cole ain't doin that
the only song he on that might do that just so happens to be a MMG song

J.Cole is the bigger artist, Wales biggest hits have been features. No hands isn't Wales song its a song he featured on, at the end of the day Cole has managed to build a bigger buzz based on two mixtapes than Wale has on various mixtapes and an solo album, Wales biggest hit was chillin and that was due to the chorus being sung by that freak Gaga, Cole has a bigger female fanbase and a bigger international fanbase..period.

Evryone has a different way of doing things, J Cole doesn't need to jump on the bandwagon and sign for the hottest labels at the moment to have a successful career, Young Money is far bigger than MMG and no one would condone Cole signing to them, Cole is doing things his own way, Nas Jay-Z and Jadakiss are three rappers with the most longevity from the 90's and they all went about different ways to maintaining that longevity, personally i don't think Cole would neccesarily fit into MMGs roster, he doesn't need to play 2nd fiddle to Ross and he doesn't necessarily need the type of beats MMG spit to build a long career, the guy has managed to build a international fanbase on two mixtapes, that were largely produced by himself, his career has been a success so far and i don't see no signs of him fading away.

For all the talk of MMG their last album only sold what 100K, to be honest when Cole drops an album i can see him doing similar numbers.

Y'all niggas criticizing cole's production have short memories...

FNL had extremely solid production with many high points..it would have made for a great album

Cole's only flaw/weakness(and it's a huge flaw i'll admit) is that he is currently breaking his neck trying to come up with a top 10 hit which I don't think he really has it in him to do well..People compared him to Drake early on but I just don't believe he's as commercially appealing as Drake with him being better able to make semi-ballads and what not..The way the climate of the game as far as radio play you have to come up with something extremely popish to get a hit(i.e. wiz,big sean) and I don't think Cole is willing to go that route

I remember reading an interview with Stargate (producers of Wiz Khalifa's Black and Yellow) where they were saying Jay-Z got at them to create a black and yellow-like song for JCole..I doubt cole is willing to do a track like that based off of the singles he's dropped

The only thing that pisses me off is knowing that there was gonna be a song (Work Out) that i was gonna constantly skip on the album before i got a title for that same album, lol

Just about every J. Cole thread on every hip hop board I visit averages at about 20 pages......he's obviously not losing his buzz....so why don't we all just shut up and what until September 27? You wanted a single, we got one. You wanted a release date, we got one. You wanted a vlog, we got one. Quit fucking bitching. I swear, I can't remember the last time I've seen a rapper get as constantly and unfairly critiqued as J. Cole. Get off the man's dick and let them do what they do.

Why isn't it working? Because it's not a top 10 billboard hit? Because you said it isn't? Dude can I please get a legitimate reason for why MMG would be better for him than RN? You honestly think Rick Ross knows more about how to be successful than Jay Z? It's been stated that Jay has tried to hook Cole up with producers and dude has denied the offers. It's been stated that Cole wants NO help from Jay Z. It's been stated that J. Cole wants his career to be determined by no one but himself. You trynna tell me that Cole would rather accept Ross' producer offers, accept Ross' help and listen to Ross' advice over Jay Z? Ayo how many platinum albums does Ross have? Ayo how many units you think them MMG niggas gona move by themselves? Ayo how many units did Self Made sell? I see no legitimate reason for why MMG would be better for Cole than RN.

The only credible fuckin post in this thread. And Shencos. All the niggas in this thread are either mmg stans or constant j.cole haters. Too much bias in this thread to be taken seriously.
