ITT Shuts Down, Leaving Tens Of Thousands Of Students In The Lurch

What do you do if you went to one of these schools that shut down and they refuse to give you your transcript (needed to transfer credits to another school or for certification exams)? I know someone who graduated but the school shut down before an official transcript could be requested. The certification exam the woman needs to take requires an official transcript. She's got her degree. She just needs her official transcript.

I almost went to one around 2010 but I had a home boy that put me on game with those for profit schools. Don't see why someone will waste all of that money & time to score a degree that isn't credit at the average college & most jobs doesn't even respect. Those for profit degrees are about as worthless as a beeper in 2016

I'm in w/ a big Dept. right now. Community college, Technical college, or even a self learned pace would help you to get on and take off from there. Could've saved myself 15K if I would've known that when I left HS smh.....

Closing up shop is the best thing that school ever did. Those for-profit schools are no better than payday loan centers.

I went to one of those Carrington colleges for one semester. Said fuck it because the Dean would shit on me because I wouldn't wear a tie on Fridays. Only by God's graces did I get away scot free with no debt. Don't know how. I just completely stopped going. I think part of it was because I never grabbed any of my financial aid checks.

That happens all the time with those schools. And they never give the students any warning. They just let them show up to class and there will be a note on the door saying the school was shut down. The students be outside crying and confused. Its a hot mess.

As funny as this shot is its true.....I shifted my career to IT and got a call at a call center.....most of them muthafuckas are ITT grads.....I got my A+ cert for free and I'm pursuing my CCNA at a certified community college for chump change and the credits for the class actually roll over to universities.....this one dude told me that he owed 80 grand to ITT..what a fuckin fool

Probably because community colleges take 2 years and actually require you to learn something, instead of running a degree mill

Not every Community college is accredited. I learn this the hard way. Went to a popular CC school in New Orleans called Delghetto and when I transferred almost none of my credits did smh.
