But listen to how hardcore and grimey Biggie was . Em is the same way, both rappers were lyrcially advanced, and they never held they tounge .. I think Biggie set the tone with hardcore, straight vicious rap style, and Em came along and mastered it in his own way.
Theres shit Biggie used to say or rap about that most other nigga's would'nt say cause of the public view.

Although Food & Liquor isn't as strong as Marshall's "first" three efforts, by no means is the album a weedplate. While I understand that it's an album you do not listen to regularly, I still think that's an harsh exaggeration since it's rated by fans and crtics fairly well. And to me, When Disaster Strikes had more than only three dope songs: World Lookin' at Me, Survival Hungry, When Disaster Strikes, So Hardcore, Get High Tonight, Turn It Up, One, Dangerous, Things We Be Doin PT1, and The Body Rock were all good tracks as well, in my opinion. On Mos Def, it's true that he's not as sharp on the mic as he used to be, but I thought Ecstatic was solid.

LOL, well said. If there's one artist I'd say Biggie is similiar to when it comes to content, it's definitely Marshall. They both had repetitive subject matter, lacked songs with any social message, and shared an obsession with rape, pedophilia and homosexuality:

Em off skill alone is one of the goat. I believe his first 3 albums were among some of the best albums released in that time period. Nobody is saying he is Nas or Jigga or anyone else. But he deserves respect.
