Shit is getting on my nerves, Commerical hip hop is NOT the only hip hop. plenty of dope shit came out this year. stop being fucking lazy ass hip hop fans and start looking. And there has also been threads on them and im willing to bet that most of you niggas that agree with jamar, wasnt in those threads either

We shouldn't have to look though. That's what differentiates the old days to now.

hmmm you're right and thats about the radio BUT if you conider yourself to be a fan of hip hop and you WANT dope music so damn badly that you're willing to complain for you, why not look for what you want tho? this is the internet age isnt it

Not everybody wants to go look for anything.

If someone is not willing to dig into the genre more for more hip hop music beyond what being fed to them can they really consider themselves a hip hop fan? I do agree with the radio balance thing tho but my main point is, For someone to say this is the worse hip hop year is crazy when there has been tons of stuff dropped

That's a myopic view point though. Just because they don't do the things you don't make them any more or less a hip hop fan. For some people they don't have the time or energy to go scavenger hunting for hip hop music.

Yo its not about them doing what I want them to do, Honestly I really dont give a fuck But if you have enough energy to complain about the genre day and night, then you should have enough energy to check whats out there. If Not then you obviously dont want it that badly in the first damn place. But like I said, I dont give a fuck, keep complaining and waiting for the radio to feed you shit, yall loss not mine

Who says anything about complaining? I'm speaking in general not just about people complaining. Not everybody has the energy or time to go search for hip hop. It shouldn't be that way in the first place. That ain't normal but I guess it is what it is.

You seem to be lazy as fuck and need to be spoon fed everything. You could find music that matches your taste in less than a 106 n park top 10 countdown.

Lol whut? I look out for music from artists I like. I get put on to stuff from posters on here as well. But I'm not speaking for me at all.

So you're speaking for people that probably have no problem listening to what is played by their local radio stations? If they cared, they would find alternatives like everyone here has done.

Lord Jamar never said 2014 was the worst year in hiphop, he said he would have to go back and compare this year's albums to past years. With that being said, on a mainstream level, this was one of the worst years in hiphop history ,even the "ringtone" years produced some solid mainstream albums.

Anybody that thinks 2005-2006 is worse then this year needs to really go back and remember the albums that were dropped those 2 years....yall buggin

90s elitism at it's finest SMMFH.... These old niggas will shit on Hip-Hop today but won't put out music to change it. Meanwhile Jay, Nas, Em, Wu-Tang and them are still puttin out quality music that's dope. I really really feel that today we live in a Golden Era of rap TODAY, it's just that the 90s elitists are so into their memories they not going to pay attention to all these new artists until they gone (but that's ok this I'm sure we'll do the same to the next generation). Let's face it tho, in 2014 alone there was no wack albums or mixtapes that dropped - except for Ab-Soul's About These Days album and maybe a few bad apples but overall the quality of good music to have come out in the last 2 years has been incredibly strong. YG dropped a great album, School Boy Q dropped a good album, Cyhi The Prynce, Wale, J.Cole, Kendrick, A$AP Rocky, Danny Brown, Big Sean's Detroit mixtape, Joe Budden, MNIMN, Ohio, Big KRIT entire discography, Run The Jewels, Curren$y, etc. etc.

There's a lot of good music out there, the thing is a lot of the people who came up on 90s Hip-Hop have memories tied to those times. Overall, this is the shit that Lord Jamar does, he just hates on everything and is a staunch 90s era elitist, you think he's gonna put any generation over the one he came up and got rich in ? Hell nah. But on top of that if he agreed with everything he wouldn't have a platform on vladTV. This is what Jamar does, he gets under your skin and gets niggas talkin. It keeps his name in headlines and yall niggas questioning yourselves.

There is no such thing as a bad year in hip hop. There is something out there for everyone, every year, all the time. Niggas just dont bother to look, or turn off the radio.
