I will say this though, It Was Written is one of those albums that I have aged gracefully. I like that album more the older it gets. It also seems that people's overall perception of the album has changed over the years. That album was once looked at as sellout album and now it's revered as one of Nas's best. Some even argue that it is Nas's best album.
