50 - POTD and GRODT. everyone always says POTD is his best album, and most people agree GRODT is classic.. so, why not?

also, no one mentioned Mobb Deep?

if you dont count Juvenile Hell. then its The Infamous and Hell on Earth.

and another one

im going to have to agree nas is my 1a for debut + sophmore but biggie is 1b. after that there are quite a few that could make an argument depending on how you value the music

36 chambers + Forever

ironman + supreme clientele

quality + beautiful struggle

southernplayalisticadillacmuzic + atliens

lord willing + hell hath no fury

(i know yall gonna hate but personal faves)

attack of the attacking things + this week

food & liquor + the cool

honorable mention... i wanted to include mf doom but my man had too many aliases for me to construct an approach as to what should be considered doom vs victor vs geedorah

*bows and beholds something greater than myself*

Jean Grae is the female GOAT hands down on a creative level. Both them albums are tough. And Jeanius? Fuuuuuuuck...

DOOM's Operation Doomsday and MM... FOOD are classics to me, if you count consecutive albums as DOOM. Not a fan of the Geedorah side (too many subpar features) and Vik's albums were dope, but the production was meh. DOOM is best on his own shit, and of course Madlib's.

Yall can name people with back to back freshman and sophomore albums that are classic as much as you want. Doesn't mean they're better than Nasir's. The closest one is probably Ice Cube. But the quality on Illmatic and It Was Written is unmatched.

Well yea, Rakim also came to mind. I mean yea they're on the all time great list in that category but Nas would be number 1.

I can't say for sure that Nas has the best freshman/sophomore albums. A lot of great rappers have dropped some good shit too.
