Is Kanye worldwide because of his production, his rhymes or his antics?!?
and you still haven't answered why he deserves GOAT!

He is incredibly inconsistent, and honestly, you get the feeling listening to him that he thinks his verses are nicer than they actually are. The best rhymes I've heard Kanye deliver are the ones where he is being truthful and honest, and lately, he's too caught up in his own hype to do that anymore. Maybe when his grows up a little bit, he will take that next step, but until then, he is his own worst enemy as far as ability goes

georgia boi;3510277 said:Kanye is worldwide because of his overall artistry. To tell you the truth, he's more known as a rapper than he is a producer as there's people that weren't up on Kanye before College Dropout that aren't aware that he produced that album nor that he produced for the likes of Alicia Keys, Brandy, Keyshia Cole, Ludacris, Nas, Diddy, Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown, Talib, and Mos Def. There's others that just know of his production work for himself and Jay Z. Case in point, Quincey Jones saying Kanye was just a rapper.
As for as him not being GOAT rapper, why does his catalog automatically make him a Top 10 producer, but it's not enough to make him a Top 10 rapper? If putting together dope albums as a producer trumps technical skill then why isn't enough for him to be a Top 10 rapper? True there are rappers that rap better than Kanye, but they are they making better music? The question all comes down to whether the music is rated higher than his skill. If it's a matter of skill, then we should also be questioning his skill as a producer.
Makes a lot of sense right here. His flow and cadence is boring, and his beats are okay, nothing extrordinary. He just sampling a few bars as opposed to other producers that make sonic masterpieces. When he can get different parts of records to make hot songs then he'll move up a notch with megarv;3510448 said:Q Tip has dropped highly acclaimed solo albums, has produced some of the best cuts in rap history, and was a member of one of the GOAT groups in rap history and eeven he is neve mentioned in the same breath as Nas, Jay and co, so why should Kanye, who to me is a even lesser artist than Tip is?

garv;3512011 said:Kanye having more impact than Q Tip is arguable. Lets not forget that A Tribe Called Quest are the biggest rap group in history alongside NWA, Public Enemy, and Run DMC, in fact many would also say that the Native Toungues posse which they were apart of paved the way for artists like Kanye to come about. Q Tio has revolutionized the game as much as Kanye, saying Kanye is more influential is like saying Nas is more influential than Rakim, its all good acknowledging Kanyes accomplishments but always remember who paved the way, because Q Tip is as influential to Kanyes generation as Kanye is to this generation.
Kanye maybe a better producer not to sure about him being a better lyricist, but the point remains, just because Kanye is a great producer who has made good music doesn't mean he should be in GOAT contention, just like i wouldn't class a artist like Tip as a GOAT contender, i respect their artistry but i realize they aren't up there with the Nas, Jays, Commons of this world when it comes to straight rapping
