This is so simple everyone and anyone from any region should be able to "decode" what is being implied. The loyalists will not be happy about this.

I hate agreeing with this because I love Scarface, Bun B, Eightball, Young Buck, Outkast, and many others............But the talent vs Trash Ratio is............ummm......Yeah I'm leave that unsaid

i'll speak for myself, i grew up in the 80's-90's hip hop was more or less word/life, rap was reality and ice cube did represent hard for the west, but the majority of hip hop in it's purest form was from the eastcoast mainly NYC because thats where it came from so natrually the artists from up there had a sense of what it actually was, (not just a way to make money). i won't say that the south doesn't know or put out good music but the majority of it was their reality which was a reflection but it wasn't enlightening, artists like outkast, scarface, ugk, etc... they put out great music that i do consider hip hop in it's own context that is very listenable, it's just not a lot of artists like that to go around. for a while what people consider the purest form of hip hop was a staple of the eastcoast, now they follow whatever is hot in the mainstream (majority) you still have those who stay true to their sound but i'd say the east is where the raw hip hop resides, not just hustle based but street knowledge. in a perfect world their would be more unity across the board and us as hip hop heads could all get on the same page and create a legitamate movement without all the ignorance, how many times can we keep killing eachother over goods that "they" lay out in front of us? rather it be drugs, rims, money, etc.

You can argue back and forth about what region puts out the worst Hiphop music but most people are either in denial or delusional..

Truth is a bitter pill to swallow. here's the medicine



You have to trick them into admitting who is the worst and here are 5 steps to do it...

1.) Ask them to list the 10 worst rappers of all-time and what region they are from.

2.) Ask them what region has the most/least "pure rapper's", when I say pure Im talking about a rapper that isn't playing a character of a pimp, d-boy, thug, goon, or gangsta.

3.) Ask them which regions have the most rappers who you could listen to acapella without music and people from all walks of life would still be impressed by their wordplay and poetry (like spoken word).

4.) Ask them to list 5 negative words used to describe the music from each coast and which words are the most disrespectful, and damaging.

5.) Ask them which region gets the most criticism from music-critics, fans, rap-legends, and society
