From "Blacker The Berry"

“I ain’t have Marvin Gaye to sing to me
And make me feel like black was the thing to be
Until Big Daddy Kane, I was so glad he came
Made me feel good about bein’ black again cause
We was at the bottom of the market
Al B. made Sure it was a problem to be dark skinned
Until Wesley Snipes, then
In with the darkies out with the light skinned
Now we got Tyrese, Taye, and Tyson
Mekhi Phifer in every movie ya like and
Blade he remind me of a modern day Panther
While Batman hides behind a mask like a Klansman
We have to achieve, ‘Caine’s killin us
Like it killed the second son of Adam and Eve
Ya palm is white and spreaded fists are black and tightened now
Slappin’ five is cool but rather you ball ya fist and give me pound
’cause..”

Due to singles such as “Sick of Being Lonely” and “So What,” one may think the Field Mob has no substance and is all club bangers and R&B-infused jams. In actuality, these guys have tackled issues including slavery, racism, domestic abuse, and spirituality on their albums.

All my folks always told that Field Mob had something to say. I just couldnt get pass their ignorant ass videos. I never really listened to 'em b/c their 1st video was so fucking ignorant. I had people tell they were on some real shit but to me that makes their clown show even worse. If these cats can really spit and they chose to play the role of the bafoon and purposely sell themselves out they get no love from me. But its good to know that there is some substance to these dudes. i'll just have to take your word for. Cant reward ignorance

Such a comparison would make Biggie turn over in his grave . I didn't understand 1% of what you just wrote. Ricky is like any other rapper out there , absolutely nothing special about him since he only raps about hoes cars and money instead of saying something witty or meaningful. If you want me to reply in the future make sure that i understand what the hell you're talking about. And im talking to you G757

I read this and was going to respond to it till...

What exactly else did Biggie talk about? You making it seem like Biggie had a diverse catalogue

Getwitcha

I read this and thought it summed it Up then...

This whole Biggie cant be touched thing, while understood by me is a bit too much. Tupac the True GOAT, only rivaled by Jay-Z, can have Ja Rule or DMX or 50 Cent as people that are compared to but Biggie cant? Ross is similar in size and his rap game is above average, hence the comparisons. Is he on Bigs level? Well to a person like myself who did not care for BIG and thought BIg was a faker with his fake Frank White act, then yeah the comparisons are warranted to me. With that being said, Big's legend, and place in hip hop will never be questioned by me.
I read this and it made me feel the need more to speak on that 1st one...

Did you ever listen to Biggie or are you just talking out the side of your mouth on some jump on trend type shit. Only thing Biggie spoke on outside of Money Hoes Clothes Vehicles is Homosexual deeds, rape, child molestation or other deviant shit. Now if that is the witty meaningful shit you Feel then I do not know what to say, keep doing you way far away from me and my folks..

So I go away to work on finals and get a new job and I come back to this regional bullshit? I'm tired of the regional bickering threads. Every region has its fair share of good music and bad music. And the cause is not the artist, but the deluded ass fans who support the bullshit music. For those of you bitching, do you buy your favorite artist's music? Do you look beyond what is presented in the mainstream? If you don't, then you don't have a right to bitch. You niggas in here taking it beyond music and talking about another man's looks? That's some seriously paustastic shit. Seriously, fuck this clearly disguised regional war thread. Thread closed. And if I see another, it's getting deleted.
