I asked my son about this earlier, and he couldn't believe Martin just...took it. He told me that shit talking was just part of the game, and he is playing middle school football. He said teammates will test you, and that's when you test them right back....it may stay at words, it may come to a couple of blows, but...its known that you aren't going for the okey doke. When its done, its done.

Now, if a group of 13-14 year old boys can understand and execute this logic, why in the hell did Martin need to be hospitalized for "distress"? I agree, there is a way to handle every situation however, it comes a point where enough is enough, and you stand ten toes down. You don't run from the obstacle, you meet it head on and handle it.

He could have mental issues...diagnosed or undiagnosed.

He could be a bitch...a pussy...afraid of repercussions, etc.

He's ultimately there to do a job. Not everyone is the same. You can't use the same tactics on everyone to get the best out of them. Anyone who has basic management skills and is able to communicate intelligently knows this.

Incognito is lucky he was messing with the quiet dude who will drop everything and remove himself from the situation and not the quiet dude who will explode and beat your brain out of your ears.

This^ would have ended badly for the boy Cortland if there wasn't someone there to break it up.

Anyhow the GM of the Dolphins apparently suggested that Martin punch Incognito a week and a half ago, and although the words used in the alleged voicemail are egregious and enough to warrant a brain rattling IMO, the tone of the voicemail is now in question because of some words left off the transcript that has been shown frequently on the news. IDK what is going on anymore.

After readign this whole story, it seems this is a completely new category of soft ngga shyt. A 3rd type

type 1- The type that lets his white friends call him 'ngga'. We familiar with this

Type 2- would let someone call him a nigger in anger and not do shyt. We know of this

This is type 3- Incognito looks like he was Martin's homie, and at som epoint Martin made it acceptable for Incognito to call him a nigger in "jest". Ive never heard no shyt like that...probably partially b/c dude is mixed and thinks he's white. smdh

A clearer picture is emerging of the complex relationship between Miami Dolphins players and former offensive tackle Jonathan Martin, who quit the team last week.Martin, 24, left the team amid allegations of gay, racist bullying and harassment by Dolphins players. The Dolphins suspended linebacker Richie Incognito, 30, for allegedly bullying Martin. But despite a gag order from the Dolphins’ front office, the players — both black and white — are speaking out in defense of Incognito.

Dolphins players say Martin and Incognito were “best friends.” And they paint a picture of the Stanford educated Martin as a self-hating black man who thought his Ivy league education made him superior to his black teammates. Despite the Dolphins being among the more diverse teams in the NFL, Martin spent most of his time with white teammates. This helps explain why several black players are lining up to defend Incognito.“I have never heard him say [the N-word] around me,” offensive guard John Jerry said. of Incognito “I would have just laughed it off if he had. He’s a guy I’m with more than my own family, so I know what type of guy he is, and he’s not a racist.”

“The people that can hurt you the most in this world are the people that are the closest to you,” said wide receiver Brian Hartline, who added that Martin had laughed about Incognito’s vulgar, racist voicemail that was sent by Incognito last Spring. “This was the same guy who was laughing about the voicemail once upon a time,” Hartline said.Other players chimed in, including Dolphins offensive tackle Tyson Clabo, who said Martin is out of line and “needs to be a man about this.”“I think that what’s perceived is that Richie is this psychopath, racist maniac,” Clabo said. “The reality is that Richie was a pretty good teammate, and that Richie and Jonathan Martin were friends.”

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill (pictured above) said he and other teammates are speaking out because of the media’s portrayal of the entire team as a group of racist bullies.“If I had any idea that it was an issue or [Martin] was struggling, of course I would have constantly checked on him to see if he was OK,” Tannehill said. “But you can’t help a situation that you didn’t even know existed. No one on this team knew it existed.“Everyone’s attacking the locker room and saying there was no leadership because they didn’t stop the situation,” Tannehill continued. “But no one knew there was a situation to stop.”

Hartline called the criticism of his coach and teammates “unfair.”“They’re attacking our coach, they’re attacking the values of the rest of the people in this locker room, and they have the [microphone] last,” Hartline said. “We weren’t fighting back, and we just had to sit back and listen to it for a couple of days. And we’re kind of tired of it.”

Martin, a closeted gay man who reportedly had a romantic interest in Incognito, entered a rehab facility soon after taking a leave of absence from the team

If Martin is smart this is all a ploy to sue the Dolphins for a careers worth of playing salary without ever stepping on a field again.

if he has proof he alerted the staff about this "abuse" and doesn't drop the proof till AFTER the dolphins say they had no knowledge of the bullying, he stands to hit a lick in court. He could argue that Incognito's bullying created a hostile work environment and was ignored after a desperate attempt at letting the staff know

this may also be the perfect timing for this kind of suit, seeing as how the league is softening up to certain things

Absolutely, but not a careers worth of salary.

1) If I'm an NFL lawyer i'm pointing out that the avg career is less than 3 years, and

2) If he had any balls whatsoever, as a starting tackle in the NFL he's looking to avg say 4 mill/yr, 10 years...40 mil. He aint comin up like that.

But he'll take the lawsuit and ride off into the sunset b/c he's a bytch who dont want no parts of the game.

The bold confirmed? No other story has mentioned that one at all

*Edit...never mind that article is from a gossip site

That's where she got the article from lol. I googled the opening lines of the article and that's what site popped up

@msjones Yea you need a link b/c Incognito is not a linebacker and thats such an egregious fuk up that site has no credibility. It looks like one of theose 'everybody is secretly gay' type sites.

Plus, no reputable site would just throw that tidbit of info at the very end

WHEN I HEARD ABOUT THE STORY, I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT DUDE MUST HAVE BEEN GAY

People who are soft and/or non confrontational exist. And there are men with emotional problems. IDK why that would make you think someone is gay just b/c the issues don't come to the surface as violence or aggression.

Hmmm, so one slip of calling a lineman a linebacker is grounds for dismissing the entire write up? Nevermind that this rewrite up is quoting several other articles verbatim...

Sure, the last part was the owners own blurb, however,it is what it is. It can be said that many other sites are alluding to that fact that is Martin is a big, hulking pillow biter, so call that spade a spade.

We'll just have to wait and see. I got a feeling that once he comes out of rehab for 'emotional distress' he will become the new poster boy for sensitivity and acceptance in the NFL.

Of course men have emotional issues. Look at Terrell Owens and Ocho. Both of them are emotionally unbalanced and not above crying in public.

Most men I know will not stand idly by and allow themselves to be continously disrespected, mocked, made fun of or badgered. If Martin is that fragile, that delicate, then why has he participated in one of the most violent and chauvinistic sports for 2 full years? Given that he has been in long enough to know what the league was about, then yes, I would question just what is he really upset about. As more of the facts come out, the more it seems like Martin is scorned and wants to do damage control before the truth comes out.
