1970's-1980's in the Bronx we're hell buildings were getting burned down ,Prostitution all over the place etc

That shit was the worst. Prominent people fell victim to the glass dick, cats were really balling at the time. Even cats in high school was slanging, how you see it in "Paid In Full" that's exactly how it was. A lot of cats did'nt make it out and a lot did time. I was born in 1973 so I saw it from the beginning. My grandmother got her shoulder blade broken because a hype tried to snatch her person and pulled her down hard to the sidewalk. I remember the fine chicks getting turned out and aids skyrocketing

I grew up with kids whose parents got caught up in that life. I didn't realize until I got older that that was the problem. It was all bad bruh....

Bad enough to where we're still recovering and suffering from the effects of it in 2015. That shit fucked us all up. Had niggas doing the wildest shit to their loved ones.

Smh shit was crazy in the Bronx.. Crack vials everywhere.. Abandoned buildings.. But at the same time.. It was love.. In the summer time I was maybe 6 years old and me and my cousin used to be in the park till 2am.. The hood was jumping.. Now after the dark it looks like a ghost town..

I remember my crib got raided.. Fuckin NYPD ransacked the place.. Even spilled the window plants on the ground... To this day the Marshalls come to my moms crib at least once a year looking for my Uncle..

Dang that is crazy. The crack epidemic really decimated the black community.

It crazy how we are still trying to recover from it to this day.

In Newark, drugs were already a big problem before the crack era started because Newark was known as a heroin city. But when crack hit the city got even crazier. Seeing family and friends going from providing for their families to smoking up the money and life away. And the violence just ramped up more.

That was one of biggest problems of the Crack Era.. That shit was so profitable & easy for niggas to get their hands on.. and then make.. That shit started a chain reaction.. Because you had all these new small time dealers who popped up out nowhere moving product & making money.. That had the established big time dealers in neighborhood in their feelings.. Wanting to take all those new dealers out.. Then you also had small & mid tier established dealers moving tons of product.. Those groups were making more money then ever had before.. And they want more so they started to go war w/ the big time dealers for more turf.. Also you had stickup niggas out there preying on those new small time dealers and smaller established dealers too.. Shit was crazy man.. You bodies dropping damn near everyday...

I lived next door to a building where crack heads would get high like the Carter...

My apartment building was raided by TNT on more than one occasion.

Life as a shorty was crazy...

I remember late summer nights as kid on garbage day.. Around like 10:40 at night.. The streets would turn into a scene from Thiller.. With all crackheads woke up out of their crack haze.. They would go through niggas garbage looking for shit take to pawn shop.. to get some more money for crack.. I remember this one time me & my cousin watched 2 crackheads try to remake Ali/Frazier fighting over a bed frame.. It was the crazy shit ever...

The shit was basically like the book "A Tale of Two Cities" opening sentence

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times!!!

man just watch lean on me, jungle fever and new jack city and you'll get a glimpse of what it was like lol. I also suggest that you listen to kool g rap,az and the early works of ghost face killa and Raekwon for a further glimpse.
